When my niece reached out and said she had to create a video for a college course about someone making a difference in the community, I was skeptical when she said she wanted to use me. Me? I'm just living my everyday life, doing the things I love, and sharing it with the people that are in the deepest corners of my heart.

This video is a testament to her talent. What an incredible snapshot of this time in our lives that I will cherish forever. It brings tears now; I can't imagine watching it after 20 years have gone by.

Sometimes seeing yourself through someone else's eyes is...well, eye opening. 💕

I took the loppers to the one way overgrown blueberry bush last week. (I took off even more than this, but didn’t remember to take another photo.)

If you want your blueberries to be productive year after year, you have to take out the older growth. The fruit grows on the canes that came in the year before. If it’s allowed to over-produce like this one has been, it will stress it out and drop production in following years.

The hardest part is cutting off the flower buds. They’re already going to be on your plant when you go to prune, and when you see them getting cut off and tossed away, all you can think about is how they would have been berries. 😭

But for the long term health of your bushes, this is what has to happen. And when they make you those blueberries year after year, you will no longer regret it. 🫐
