WV Community Health Centers provide comprehensive care to nearly 1 in 4 West Virginians. These sites also employ over 7,250 individuals.

The West Virginia Primary Care Association is comprised of 34 organizational members, representing health care service sites across the state of West Virginia. WVPCA member organizations support more than 543,000 West Virginians or 1 in 3. These organizations contribute a staggering $1B to the state economy. As health centers continue to grow and thrive, they will face challenges. The ability to respond to changing markets while remaining true to the WVPCA vision and mission will drive the success of primary care in the future.

📢 Yesterday, WVPCA was proud to attend the press announcement for the West Virginia Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP), a major initiative under the federal One Big Beautiful Bill Act that’s poised to deliver $50 billion over 5 years to strengthen rural healthcare.

We applaud Governor Morrisey and state leaders for launching this public input process—and we are ready to contribute. Through collaboration, innovation, and smart strategy, this is our opportunity to help:
• Improve access to care and outcomes in rural WV
• Support providers and ensure financial sustainability
• Bring in digital health tools, better care coordination, and behavioral health & prenatal services

If you care about rural healthcare—whether you’re a clinic, a provider, or a resident—your voice matters. The state is gathering input until September 29, so please share your ideas, stories, and recommendations.
