Our findings reveal that larger stroke lesions are associated with accelerated ageing in the ipsilesional hemisphere and paradoxically decelerated brain ageing in the contralesional hemisphere, suggesting compensatory neural mechanisms. Assessing regional brain age might serve as a biomarker for neu...

Our PhD student, Adam Baker, is excited to share that after being accepted into the Reproducible Rehabilitation (ReproRehab) research education program, he has just finished the first half of the program—the bootcamp!

His journey started back in September with a trip to LA to meet an incredible cohort and leadership team at the University of Southern California. Adam is very grateful to have received the MUSC Emerging Scholars Award and a ReproRehab stipend to help with his travel expenses.

Since then, he has spent the last few months focusing on reproducible programming, primarily in MATLAB. In the second portion of the program, he'll be applying these techniques to his research on the link between neuroplasticity and upper extremity motor recovery in stroke survivors.

Below is a picture from the kickoff trip to LA!
