It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the loss of Supreme Court Justice, Tim Armstead. He and his beloved wife were faithful volunteers of WV Health Right at our RAM (Remote Area Medical Center) clinics held annually at the Bible Center to provide free healthcare to thousands of West Virginians in need. They worked on the vision truck, making glasses, and helped restore the vision of their West Virginia neighbors. Quietly and without any fanfare they both showed their love of the Mountain State and their commitment to helping their fellow man. He also ran in our 5K fundraising event. No matter how busy he was with his professional responsibilities, he always made time to support WV Health Right and the people we serve.

“Justice Armstead was the Speaker of the House when I became CEO of West Virginia Health Right in 2014. He was always receptive, attentive, approachable and open to hearing about our mission and the plight of those we serve, the working poor. He was fair, just, and never sought attention. He was a kind and caring man who always showed his commitment to his family, God, and the great state of West Virginia. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Anna, and his daughter, Katie, and everyone who loved and respected Justice Armstead.”

We're recruiting new applicants for the 6th cohort of Prepped to Serve Appalachia with Chef Paul Smith! You'll start with one month of in class training on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 8-11am, followed by 2 months of on-the-job training. No prior culinary experience is needed—everyone is welcome, regardless of skill level!

Plus, you can now earn college credits through BridgeValley Community and Technical College towards a Board of Governors degree or a business administration degree! 🎓
