Physician Spotlight: Eric Jablon, M.D.
A South Carolina native dedicated to protecting and restoring sight, Dr. Eric Jablon brings advanced retinal care to the Lowcountry, specializing in the treatment and prevention of vision loss and impairment.
Dr. Jablon focuses on diseases and surgery of the retina, vitreous, and macula, with expertise in macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, ocular trauma, retinal detachment, uveitis, and choroidal melanomas. His advanced fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery at New England Retina Associates (Yale University & New Haven, CT) included specialized experience in the treatment of choroidal melanoma, making him the only retina surgeon in South Carolina with this level of training.
A graduate of the University of Florida and the Medical University of South Carolina, Dr. Jablon completed both his internship and residency at MUSC before pursuing his fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery. During his training, he also served as a co-investigator in multiple Phase II and Phase III clinical trials, contributing to advancements in retinal disease treatment.
A member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Ophthalmology, and Charleston Ophthalmological Society, Dr. Jablon continues to combine expertise, research, and compassionate care in the fight against vision loss.
