A note to future brides-to-be š
There is no rule that says you have to lose weight to enjoy your wedding day or your upcoming marriage. I KNOW THE PRESSURE - I feel it, acknowledge it, am in the thick of it myself. But it aināt the pre-wedding vibe, Iām telling ya.
I consider myself pretty lucky when it comes to thoughts on weight and body image. Iāve certainly wasted my time stressing over it enough and am joyously in a space where the next slice of pizza or glass of wine with friends will always be more important than how I look in a dress or in a picture. Iāll buy another dress if I donāt look good in that one, and Iāll look at the smile in the pics instead of my shape.
But MAN! There is something about a f*cking wedding that makes you feel like youāre supposed to spend another 30 minutes on the treadmill, or take an extra class at the gym.
The reality though is I know just as many brides who look back on their wedding day pictures bummed they donāt still look like that. They were doing something unsustainable to achieve that one-day goal, and now itās something they beat themselves up over for no longer looking that way. So look at the whole picture when youāre deciding how much stress to put on your pre-wedding routine.
*disclaimer* PLEASE donāt comment on this and say, āyouāre gonna be bEauTifuL!ā⦠I know. Thatās not the point. This is just a shout out to anyone navigating this same journey! Remember ya aināt alone š¤š¼
I gave myself 2 goals with my pre-wedding workouts: get back to 5 pull ups in a row & squat really heavy. Thatās it. No weight goal. No ātonedā arms. Just motivation to workout for the 1 million other reasons there are to workout besides losing weight.
And today with less than a month to go, instead trying to spend more time in the gym Iām sitting in the sauna making my get-ready playlist for the morning of. Honestly it feels way more helpful than another mile on the treadmill.
