Most of us have been doing it so long that we don’t even realize it’s not normal anymore.

So many people spend years thinking something is fundamentally broken about them, when really their nervous system is just doing exactly what it was trained to do to stay safe.

Know this, “survival mode” was never meant to be a permanent address. Time for a new location.

Words spoken in times of frustration or maybe absentmindedly.

“I’m so stupid.”
“Why can’t I just get it together.”
“Everyone else has it figured out.”

You’d never let your best friend say that about themselves…So why is it okay when it’s you?

That inner voice doesn’t always speak the truth.
Call it a force of habit, sure, but habits can change.

Tell me in the comments if you would ever let your best friend talk to themselves like that?

Certain patterns you learned to feel safe.
Saying yes when you mean no, shrinking yourself to keep the peace etc.

Nothing is permanent in your personality, things can be unlearned.
