Behind every Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) scholarship is a donor who believes in the future of health care. 💙

At the MUSC College of Pharmacy Scholars & Benefactors Luncheon, we celebrated the generosity that makes it possible for students to pursue their calling, and for South Carolina communities to gain the pharmacists and health leaders they need.

Thank you for investing in your community through these students. 🫶

Bodhi McConnell was diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma at just 5 months old.

Today, at seven years cancer-free, he’s busy fishing, hitting the beach and cheering for Clemson football. 🏖️🏈

The McConnells turned their gratitude for MUSC Children’s Health into action to support the groundbreaking work of Bodhi’s doctor, Dr. Jacqueline Kraveka.

Through The McConnell Foundation and their annual Shining Stars Gala, they’ve contributed nearly $175,000 to Dr. Kraveka’s research, including studies that led to FDA approval of a new neuroblastoma drug.

Thank you, McConnell family!

At the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), research isn’t just something we do: It’s who we are. From lab bench to bedside, our discoveries push the limits of what’s possible in health care.

Like Dr. Leonardo Ferreira’s latest work: creating a new kind of immune cell that could prevent organ rejection without weakening the whole immune system. It’s a huge leap forward for transplant patients today and for those who need safer, longer-lasting options in the future. Details ➡️https://buff.ly/msAy1cc

And it's just one of many innovations shaping the future of care here. 💙

Brent Tabor rides in LOWVELO to honor his father, Ed — and to fuel breakthroughs that give families more time together. 💙 LOWVELO funding helped bring CAR-T cell therapy in-house at MUSC Hollings Cancer Center, speeding access to this life-saving treatment.

This year, Brent’s family and his company, are riding to keep that progress going.

MUSC Health has been ranked the #1 hospital in South Carolina for the 11th year in a row — and that recognition reflects not just our team, but our community.

🏆 Every award-winning treatment, breakthrough or high-performing program has something in common: Supporters who believed it could be done.

💙 To our donors: Your generosity strengthens our people, spaces and discoveries.

📍 You’ve helped build a statewide health system that delivers excellence where it’s needed most. Thank you for all you make possible.

The latest rankings from U.S. News & World Report show MUSC Health is thriving in its original location and building on that success in other locations.

Did you know your support for LOWVELO is fueling life-changing breakthroughs in cancer research? 🔬💙

Thanks to your donations, a dedicated researcher at MUSC Hollings Cancer Center is pioneering a revolutionary treatment for solid tumors — bringing new hope to patients and families everywhere.

This is more than a ride. It’s a movement. It’s impact. It’s saving lives. 🙌

LOWVELO funds are enabling Leonardo Ferreira, Ph.D., to pursue his ideas to bring cellular therapy to solid tumors for cancer treatment.

For 20 years, the CARES Medical Clinic at MUSC has been more than a student learning experience — it’s been a lifeline.

Students like Lauren are gaining hands-on training while caring for patients who face barriers to accessing health care. 🩺💙

This impact is only possible because of generous donors like you.

Donations to the Medical University of South Carolina help support MUSC community outreach programs like the CARES Medical Clinic.

The St. Baldrick's Foundation is helping launch the next generation of cancer researchers. 🔬💚

This summer, their national fellowship is supporting rising senior Megan VanGarven as she returns to MUSC Hollings Cancer Center to study pediatric sarcomas — rare, fast-growing childhood cancers that urgently need better treatments.

With mentorship from Dr. Casey Langdon, Megan is learning advanced lab techniques and contributing to a future where safer, more targeted therapies are possible.

An undergrad is spending her summer studying pediatric sarcoma in the lab of Dr. Casey Langdon, thanks to a grant from the St. Baldrick's Foundation.

We’re incredibly grateful to the Bedford Falls Foundation for investing in future nurses. ❤
Scholarships like this remove financial barriers and give MUSC College of Nursing students the freedom to lead, serve and heal in the communities that need them most.

The Medical University of South Carolina College of Nursing has received a $1,000,000 contribution from the Bedford Falls Foundation – DAF to establish the Joanne and William Conway Nursing Scholarship program. This program will provide scholarship support to MUSC’s Accelerated Bachelor of Science (ABSN) in Nursing Program.

The Bedford Falls Foundation, a private foundation, and the Bedford Falls Foundation – DAF, its associated donor advised fund, were each established by Bill Conway Jr., co-founder and co-chairman of the global investment firm the Carlyle Group and his late wife, Joanne Barkett Conway. The shared mission of their nursing philanthropy is to remove barriers to a high-quality nursing education and address the critical nursing workforce shortage.

This generous contribution will provide need-based scholarship support to more than 80 Conway Scholars – all of whom must be South Carolina residents. The scholarship is renewable for all four semesters of the program, ensuring sustained support throughout their academic journeys.

After a decade teaching high school English, Christine followed a new calling: pharmacy.

She juggled coursework, clinicals, and three young kids — and with help from donor-funded scholarships to MUSC, she’s now ready to care for others. 💙 Read her story ➡️ https://buff.ly/K6VJr0i
