We’re incredibly grateful to the Bedford Falls Foundation for investing in future nurses. ❤
Scholarships like this remove financial barriers and give MUSC College of Nursing students the freedom to lead, serve and heal in the communities that need them most.
The Medical University of South Carolina College of Nursing has received a $1,000,000 contribution from the Bedford Falls Foundation – DAF to establish the Joanne and William Conway Nursing Scholarship program. This program will provide scholarship support to MUSC’s Accelerated Bachelor of Science (ABSN) in Nursing Program.
The Bedford Falls Foundation, a private foundation, and the Bedford Falls Foundation – DAF, its associated donor advised fund, were each established by Bill Conway Jr., co-founder and co-chairman of the global investment firm the Carlyle Group and his late wife, Joanne Barkett Conway. The shared mission of their nursing philanthropy is to remove barriers to a high-quality nursing education and address the critical nursing workforce shortage.
This generous contribution will provide need-based scholarship support to more than 80 Conway Scholars – all of whom must be South Carolina residents. The scholarship is renewable for all four semesters of the program, ensuring sustained support throughout their academic journeys.
