🎉 Cheese Doodle Chaos in Harmony Square! 🧀💛

This activity in Harmony Square brought out big laughs as we played the Cheese Doodle Game!

Our Harmony Square Director, Courtney, suited up in a shower cap covered in shaving cream, and our residents took turns tossing cheese doodles to see how many would stick. The room was full of smiles, friendly competition, and plenty of giggles.

✨ Out & About at Firefly Distillery! ✨

Our residents enjoyed a wonderful afternoon at Firefly Distillery, where they were treated to a deluxe tasting experience featuring a variety of locally crafted spirits made right here in Charleston.

From learning about the distilling process to sampling unique flavors, the day was filled with great conversation, laughter, and a little Lowcountry charm. We love creating opportunities for our residents to explore the community, try new things, and make memories together. Cheers to a delightful day at Firefly! 🥂💛

🎉 Activities Professionals Week Spotlight 🎉

As we celebrate Activities Professionals Week, we are proud to spotlight Ryleigh Barber, our Life Enrichment Director, and the heart she brings to our community every single day. 💚

Ryleigh’s journey in senior living began at 16 years old as a CNA, where her passion for caring for others first took root. Originally from Ohio, she has spent the last three years in Charleston, dedicating herself to creating meaningful, joy-filled days for our residents. As a Certified Dementia Practitioner, Ryleigh is deeply committed to person-centered care, ensuring every resident feels seen, valued, and connected.

Ryleigh believes engagement is essential to quality of life, and it shows in the thoughtful programs and genuine connections she creates. She pours intention, compassion, and creativity into everything she does—and treats this community like family.

Outside of work, Ryleigh loves music, karaoke, and bringing laughter wherever she goes 🎶. Her warmth and energy can be felt throughout our community, and we are so grateful for the passion and purpose she brings to Harmony every day.

This week, we are so excited to celebrate Courtney Goff, our incredible Harmony Square Director! 💙

Courtney has been a part of our Harmony community for 6 years, starting as an Activities Assistant in Harmony Square and working her way up through dedication, passion, and an unmatched work ethic to become our Director. She is a Certified Activities Director and Certified Dementia Practitioner, bringing both expertise and deep compassion to everything she does.

A proud Virginia native, Courtney graduated from Roanoke College in 2018 with a degree in Health & Exercise Science. Every single day, she pours her heart and soul into creating meaningful, engaging, and purpose-filled activities for our Harmony Square residents. Her commitment to ensuring our residents feel seen, valued, and joyful is truly inspiring.

Outside of work, Courtney loves spending time with her family, traveling (especially going on cruises 🚢), and relaxing poolside ☀️—well-deserved after all the hard work she does for our community.

Courtney is an integral part of Harmony, and we are so grateful for the love, energy, and dedication she brings to our residents and team every day. Thank you, Courtney, for all that you do! 💙👏

🌟 It’s Activities Professionals Week! 🌟

This week, we’re proud to celebrate the incredible people who bring connection, creativity, and joy to daily life here at Harmony at West Ashley. Our Activities Assistants play such an important role in creating meaningful moments, fostering friendships, and helping our residents feel truly at home.

Today, we’re excited to spotlight three amazing team members who pour their hearts into what they do. From lifelong locals to brand-new faces, each of them brings something special to our community—and we are so grateful for the passion, care, and energy they share with our residents every day. 💛

Jilian is a Charleston native, born and raised right here in CHS, and a proud mom to two amazing boys, ages 14 and 16. When she’s not bringing energy and creativity to our community, you can find her cheering on (or playing!) basketball, football, golf, or enjoying the outdoors—surfing, fishing, skiing, or snowboarding with her boys. Jilian lives in West Ashley and truly loves being part of this community. One of her favorite things is when her sons stop by Harmony to say hello or volunteer—it means the world to her and to our residents. Her heart for family and connection shines through in everything she does.

Judy brings a lifetime of stories, warmth, and heart to our community. She was born in the Bronx and raised in Glen Oaks, Queens—a “small village in a big city,” as she lovingly calls it. After relocating to South Carolina from the Pocono mountains, Judy found her calling working with seniors, first in home care and now here at Harmony at West Ashley. She has a natural gift for connecting with people and making them feel seen and cared for. Judy loves her job, her coworkers, and most of all, the residents she gets to spend her days with—and we’re so lucky to have her.

Sophia is the newest addition to our Activities team, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome her! She is a recent 2025 graduate of Charleston Southern University and originally from Maryland, but Charleston has been home since 2022. Sophia played volleyball in college and enjoys painting, running, and spending time at the beach. She brings great energy, creativity, and enthusiasm, and is super pumped to be part of our team. We can’t wait for our residents to get to know her!
