More than 240 students came together to share great food, good company, and a fun Friday afternoon.

We are grateful to the MUSC Student Government Association (SGA) for hosting this event and for continuing to create opportunities that strengthen our campus community.

Ever wonder how your brain cleans itself? MUSC researchers, Dr. Onder Albayram and his team, have uncovered an important part of that process.

Using MRI technology developed with NASA, they found that the middle meningeal artery helps the brain drain waste and stay healthy.

Understanding this system in healthy people gives doctors a better starting point for spotting early signs of Alzheimer’s, brain injury, and other conditions.

Imagine having to choose between your health and your job.

For many people living with sarcoidosis, that has been the reality when seeking access to new treatments through clinical research.

Thanks to the advocacy of Dr. Ennis James and the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research, patients now have job protection under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) when they take part in this kind of care.
