I was very close with her growing up and...

On January 19th, Katie Brandt, our Director of Caregiver Support Services, had the opportunity to interview Dr. Anthony Fauci for the January 2021 NAPA Advisory Council on Alzheimer's Research, Care and Services meeting. Katie and Dr. Fauci spoke about the impact of COVID on our dementia community and the sobering statistics about loss of loved ones due to COVID. They discussed the importance and safety of the COVID vaccine, how to safely visit loved ones living in skilled nursing care and how our community can move forward with hope.

As they wrapped up our time together, Katie asked Dr. Fauci to impart some of his wisdom to the NAPA Council as they continue their own journey to eradicate the epidemic of Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias. He said "The principle of anticipating the needs that you will have two, three, four, five years from now and start working on building the foundation for those needs, I think is the best advice I can give you."

The power of science has never been so inspiring as during this moment in time. Dr. Fauci, thank you for your dedication to the health of our nation! See the full interview here: https://youtu.be/0wlQZG7ZXlQ
