The Global Cardiovascular Health Program at Massachusetts General Hospital aims to advance equitable heart care worldwide by partnering with in-country leaders to strengthen clinical infrastructure, education, and research in areas of high need. In Cape Verde, where cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death and resources are limited, this work includes rheumatic heart disease screening, pacemaker implantation, clinician training, and long-term health system support. Philanthropic support helps make this work possible by expanding access to life-saving care and building sustainable impact in communities with the greatest need.
