Lake Charlevoix EMS Authority The Lake Charlevoix EMS Authority was established as a collaboration between the City of Charlevoix, Charlevoix Twp., Hayes Twp., Marion Twp., and Norwood Twp.

It serves the populace and visitors of the member entities.

The Gallop and Silva families would like to take a second to Thank You for the tremendous outpouring of support for their daughter/granddaughter Temperance Gallup at the Elks Club last Saturday.

With over 350 people through the door and the incredible outpouring of love and support, we, as a community, raised over $11,000 to be put toward medical bills for Tempy.

This could not have been possible without the help of Jordan Valley EMS Authority, Boyne City EMS, Lake Charlevoix EMS Authority, Eds DJ Service, Jessica and Mark Anderson, Karen and Marty Draves, Lyon Stephens and Dale Henning, Toni and Bill Tarrant, as well as APEX Insurance Services. And so many others to make this go off without a hitch.

Thank you to the Elks Club #2856 for allowing us to host this event at your facility. Thank you to all the donors and sponsors for the event. And a special thanks to the Bellaire Community School District for the kids doing a penny drive, raising over $2,000, and the Bellaire Fire Department for sponsoring the Kids Carnival that supported the Penny Drive, and last but not least Charlevoix Elementary School for their generous donation. As well as so many others.

Dear Friends and Community Members,

We urgently need your help to raise money for Temperance Gallup, Jessica, and Jesse Silva's (EMS Director for LCEMSA) dear six-year-old granddaughter's ever-growing medical bills. Temperance has been bravely fighting a series of medical challenges, and she needs our help now more than ever.

At the end of January, Temperance was diagnosed with mastoiditis, a rare and severe condition. Despite undergoing surgery to remove the mass, complications arose when she developed a brain infection at the brain stem, a location deemed inoperable by doctors. With immense strength, she has been undergoing intensive treatment, receiving both intravenous and oral antibiotics to combat the infection over the past eight weeks. However, her journey has been further complicated by the development of a blood clot in her left brain hemisphere following surgery.

Temperance's road to recovery is long and arduous. She is facing three more surgeries and a treatment plan spanning six months to a year. The financial burden of medical expenses, travel, and ongoing care is overwhelming for our family, but we refuse to let it dim our hope and determination.

Further appointments and surgeries can only be made at the University of Michigan MOTT Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI. It is the only children's Specialty Hospital in the state that can handle the severity of this life-threatening situation.

In light of this, Lake Charlevoix and Jordan Valley EMS Authority are organizing a Spaghetti Fundraiser to rally our community to support Temperance's fight. We invite you to join us for an evening of delicious food, a silent auction, a bake sale, heartfelt conversations, and unwavering solidarity. Every plate of spaghetti purchased and every donation made will make a tangible difference in Temperance's journey toward healing.
