The National Healthcare Food Service Workers Week Celebration Continues!

From the amazing aromas in the air to the sizzling sounds of cooking, it's easy to tell when the culinary leaders come together for the Seasonal Regional Menu Development workshops.

These inclusive and collaborative sessions in our Michigan, Florida, and Tennessee regions bring together culinary leaders as they hone their skills by creating resident-driven recipes, community-specific recipes and regional recipes, all while perfecting plate presentation standards.

Vice President of Culinary, Michael McLoone, places a great deal of importance on these sessions. "These seasonal workshops are vital for continuing our journey of creating resident-driven culinary experiences across our portfolio."

During this weeklong celebration, we’ll be honoring the dedicated culinary teams who provide healthful meals and memorable experiences for our American House residents. Being in culinary in senior living requires a very special set of tools. Throughout this week we’ll share how passion, drive, empathy, patience and humility are shared by our 1,000 culinary team members.

The 10th and final week of the American House challenge is here! It was so much fun to end with the "Farmer's Market Fill-Up" theme 🌾 Tomato Basil 🍅 cucumber mint lime 🥒 and grape orange ginger thyme 🍇 water options made residents feel refreshed and ready for the week! And we can't forget about the Bloody Mary mocktails 😋 Thanks again to our teams for keeping our communitites hydrated! While the official challenge may be over, daily hydration continues 🧊 as our teams' efforts truly make a difference in our residents' health and happiness 🥰

Surprise! It's another Detroit Princess Riverboat post! There was so much amazing content that another post had to be created 😊 From a hula hoop contest to a Tina Turner mini-concert, our American house staff and residents took over the cruise! Thanks again to everyone involved; it's moments like this that create memories for a lifetime 🥰 (And, yes, we think dancing is still the favorite!) 💃🕺

Earlier this month, some of our communities boarded the Detroit Princess Riverboat! This yearly outing continues to grow bigger each year, and our residents and team members always have a blast! Lunch, live music, dancing, and sightseeing provide something for everyone to enjoy 😊 (But we think dancing is the favorite!) 💃🕺

The 9th week of the American House challenge was definitely buzz-worthy! 🐝 The creativity for the "Bee Hydrated" theme was outstanding 😍 From honey and jasmine-infused water to sugar-free lavender water, residents were buzzing about the tastes! 🍯 The final week is sure to be fresh, colorful, and garden-inspired! (And, yes, that's your hint 😉)
