Research shows that exercise and sleep are two of the most powerful - and underused - tools for managing ADHD.

Physical activity boosts dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin... the same neurotransmitters targeted by ADHD medications. Studies show it improves attention, mood, executive function, and self-regulation.

And for kids especially, regular exercise can actually minimize the genetic predisposition to ADHD symptoms.

You don't need a gym membership or an hour a day. Even 20 minutes of movement before school or work can make a measurable difference.

Movement is medicine... especially for the ADHD brain.

ADHD symptoms can put real strain on relationships, and partners often don't realize ADHD is at the root of it. That misunderstanding can lead to resentment, frustration, and feeling like you're not enough.

Sleep issues are incredibly common with ADHD and it goes both ways. Poor sleep makes ADHD symptoms worse, and ADHD makes it harder to sleep.

Research shows that people with ADHD traits are significantly more vulnerable to the effects of sleep deprivation... showing greater executive function impairment after even one bad night than those without ADHD.

Common sleep challenges with ADHD include:
→ Trouble winding down at night ("can't turn the brain off")
→ Delayed sleep phase (naturally falling asleep and waking later)
→ Insomnia
→ Difficulty waking in the morning

If this sounds like your household, it's worth bringing up at your next appointment - sleep is a huge piece of the treatment puzzle.
