I’man Boykin of Sacred Beginnings, LLC lives to be LOVE in every way possible. A Los Angeles native, and mother of 3 beautiful children, Boykin became a trained Doula under an organization called CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association) in 2014. Boykin birthed all her children naturally, and truly has a passion for birth. Since the age of 3 years old, Boykin knew she had a calling on her life. At that young age, she labeled the calling “a baby doctor.” As time went on, Boykin realize she wanted to work within a more holistic and spiritual approach to the sacred birth experience. After realizing the business behind birth, she decided to focus on getting back to the natural and traditional way of birth. As time went on she realized the callings true label was “Holistic Doula.” She realized the importance of ensuring the women and families were whole, peaceful, blissful and serene during the birth experience. With the usage of various modalities, as your Doula, Boykin will provide the mother and family with physical, emotional and informational support. She facilitates and promotes self-advocacy, informed choice, and effective communication between the family and care providers. She seeks to create a cooperative, respectful, and positive atmosphere with members of the birth team so the mother can birth with confidence. During the postpartum period, Boykin as a Postpartum Doula will assist the mother in processing her birth experience, answering questions about newborn care and breastfeeding within her scope of practice; as well as referring the family to appropriate sources as needed.
