We love receiving pictures like this from our mamas doing the work at home with their little ones!! 🥳👏🏼👶🏻
We have been hard at work with our client, working to correct an open-mouth resting posture. So, what do we LOVE about this picture (other than the sweetest little face we’ve ever seen 🥹) ?!
1. CHEWING! 😬 Chewing helps to target and strengthen the muscles of the face encouraging proper facial development, promotes nasal breathing and encourages correct tongue posture.
2. VIBRATING TOOLS! 🫨 Tools that have vibration create more awareness and tactile stimulation during play. We use them to help “wake up” our muscles and keep them engaged during oral motor therapy.
3. TUMMY TIME! 🙆🏼♀️ Tummy time creates the opportunity for stretching and movement of the tongue for our infants. They are also working to build muscles throughout their neck and shoulders which creates a strong foundation for oral motor functioning.
If you are concerned with your infant or child’s oral resting posture, please send us a DM! We want to help! ☺️
Thank you for the pic! 🥰
