The Golden Hour is a critical time after birth.

Skin-to-skin is not just comfort.
It supports your baby’s temperature, breathing, and first feed.

But this moment is often rushed.

As doulas, we help protect this space—
because your first moments together matter.

You deserve time. You deserve support. You deserve this 🤍

✨WHAT ITS LIKE WORKING WITH US✨

Did you know there is an enormous amount of evidence showing that doulas decrease the rate of cesarean birth by almost 40%, increase birth satisfaction, decrease birth intervention, and sooo much more.

If you've EVER considered hiring a doula we truly think it's the best decision you could make surrounding pregnancy- whether that's us or another one of the

Hills I'll die on with little explanation🤰Birth isn’t just physical — it’s deeply influenced by environment, support, and the care you receive.

Many routine practices in hospitals are based on policy, convenience, or outdated norms—not always current evidence.

That’s why informed consent, continuous support, and advocacy matter.

You deserve to understand your options.
You deserve to feel safe.
You deserve a team that respects your voice.

Save this for when you need the reminder 💌

This Earth Day, let’s talk about sustainable birth choices 🌿

Eco-friendly birth isn’t about perfection — it’s about intentional choices. 🌎

From reusable postpartum supplies to non-toxic baby products, small changes can reduce exposure to harmful chemicals and support a healthier planet for the babies we bring into it.

Here are a few simple swaps:
🌿 Glass bottles instead of plastic
🌿 Reusable nursing pads
🌿 Organic cotton clothing
🌿 Plant-based diaper creams
🌿 Limiting unnecessary single-use items

Better for baby. Better for birth. Better for the future.

What’s your favorite eco-friendly product or practices? Comment down below! 👇🏻

Did you know that having a doula is associated with lower cesarean rates? 🤍

Research shows that continuous labor support from a trained doula can reduce the likelihood of a C-section, shorten labor, and improve overall birth satisfaction. Not because doulas “control” birth—but because we provide steady emotional support, physical comfort measures, evidence-based information, and help families feel confident in their decisions.

Birth works best when you feel safe, supported, and informed. That’s the power of continuous support.

If you’re planning a hospital birth, induction, VBAC, or simply want an extra layer of support—having a doula can make a meaningful difference in your experience and your outcomes.

Before agreeing to any intervention during labor… pause.

Use B.R.A.I.N 🧠

This is one of the most important tools for informed birth decisions:
✔️ Benefits
✔️ Risks
✔️ Alternatives
✔️ Intuition
✔️ Nothing (can we wait?)

You don’t have to rush your decision.
You are allowed to ask questions.

This is YOUR body. YOUR baby. YOUR birth 🤍
Save this—you’ll want this during labor.

April is Cesarean Birth Awareness Month 🤍

Cesarean birth is not the easy way out.
It is major surgery.
It is strength.
It is sacrifice.
It is birth.

Whether your cesarean was planned, unexpected, life-saving, or complicated to process — your story matters. Your birth matters. You matter.

As a doula, we believe families deserve evidence-based information, respectful care, and support no matter how their babies enter the world. Awareness means honoring cesarean births, improving recovery support, and making space for every experience.

If you had a cesarean, this month is for you.
We see you. We support you. We honor you.

🌸HAPPY WORLD BREASTFEEDING WEEK🌸

This week, we honor the strength, resilience, and love of breastfeeding mothers everywhere. Every latch, every pump, every ounce is a powerful act of care. Heather you’re breastfeeding or pumping, it’s a labor of love that equates to around 1800 hours per year which is a full time job mama!

Breastfeeding is a natural act that nourishes life, strengthens bonds, and protects the health of both mother and baby. 💖
Breastfeeding is more than a personal choice — it’s a shared responsibility that deserves support from families, communities, and health systems.

The power of breastfeeding:

•Your body creates over 200 nutrients, antibodies, and hormones perfectly designed for your baby.
•Breastfed babies have a lower risk of infections, asthma, allergies, obesity, and SIDS.
•YOU are lowering your own risk of breast cancer, ovarian cancer, diabetes, and heart disease — just by nourishing your child.
•Breastfeeding worldwide could save 820,000 children’s lives every year (WHO).

💖 Mama, remember:
•You are more than enough for your baby
•Every drop counts — no matter the length of your journey.
•You are changing the future, one feed at a time.

Here’s to YOU — the heartbeat behind the milk. 🍼✨

Before the need for perfect, there was simple.⁣
Oh, so completely simple.⁣

A stable.⁣
Wooden manger.⁣
An exhausted new mother.⁣
A terrified first-time father,⁣
unsure of his fresh role.⁣

Before the quest for the perfect holiday,⁣
there was a journey.⁣

A faithfully fearful passage.⁣
Full of eager anticipation.⁣
Following the guidance of an angel.⁣
By the light of an unmistakable star.⁣
Straight toward prophesied uncertainty.⁣

Before the craziness and chaos of the holidays, there was undeniable peace.⁣
Amidst the quiet darkness of a wooden⁣
building meant for animals, not a King.⁣
A baby’s bed made of hay.⁣
Respectful visitors, in awe of new life.⁣
Rest, tranquility and anxious-filled quiet.⁣

Before chasing the mirage of perfection crept into our lives...⁣
⁣..a grand tree⁣..an expensively prepared holiday meal⁣..hundreds-upon-thousands⁣
of dollars spent on gifts⁣..rushing from event-to-event;⁣
from obligation-to-obligation⁣..working overtime to ensure a faultless experience...⁣
⁣..there was imperfect.⁣

Gorgeously uncertain and incredibly simple;⁣
imperfect.⁣

An imperfectly beautiful night that⁣
granted each-and-every one of us⁣
the greatest, most undeserving⁣
Gift of all.⁣

Unconditional.⁣
Ever-forgiving.⁣
All-encompassing.⁣
Unlimited.⁣
Life-everlasting.⁣
Grace.⁣

A lifetime of the most unmerited gift. Made possible by the sacrifice of a newborn baby. In the quiet stillness of a livestock stable. Under the majestic light of the North Star.⁣

So humble.⁣
So fearful.⁣
So anticipated.⁣
So serene.⁣
So still.⁣
So often forgotten.⁣
So easy to remember.⁣

Such a powerfully tranquil celebration.⁣

Before the need for perfect, there was simple.⁣

Oh, so completely...⁣..beautifully...⁣..magnificently...⁣..sovereignly...⁣..intensely...⁣..redeeming-ly...⁣
simple.⁣

🚩 Routine does not mean it is the best and safest decision for everyone 🚩

💧 An amniotomy is an intervention routinely used in the hospital for induction or augmentation. It consists of the medical provider artificially releasing the bag of waters using an amnihook that looks similar to a crochet hook. 💧

Somethings to consider

• Am I progressing?
• Where is the baby stationed in my pelvis?
• What are the risks?
• What are the benefits?

An amniotomy CAN be a tool to help labor progress but it does NOT need to be done if labor is already progressing. It is important to understand the benefits and risks before consenting to one.

Keeping your water intact as long as possible also cushions you and your baby from the intensity of labor contractions. Picture it like a swimming pool for your baby and bubble wrap for you!

And YES! It is possible for your baby to be born in their sac also known as en caul and it is actually considered a sacred thing!

So Remember light 💡 you ALWAYS have the option to say no! Or consider it when baby is lower in your pelvis later in labor. Or just wait for it to happen on its own! Or perhaps, your little one is extra special and is born en caul 🤍
