Today I went to my first ribbon cutting — and it was more than just a pair of oversized scissors and a photo moment.

It was networking in its most natural form. Conversations flowing. Business cards exchanging hands. Real connections being made — not forced, not rushed — just community doing what community does best.

I stood there watching another local dream take shape, and it reminded me how powerful it is to support the people building right here in our backyard. Every new storefront, every grand opening, every handshake is part of something bigger — growth.

And honestly? It was a little spark of fun in the middle of the day. Stepping away from emails and appointments to celebrate someone else’s win. Laughing. Meeting new faces. Feeling the momentum.

Remember that if you’re cold, your pets are cold too. Use these tips to help them stay warm and comfortable all winter long.

-Be aware of how much time your pet is spending outside, and try to limit their exposure to the cold to fifteen to twenty minutes at a time.
-Road salt and antifreeze are both toxic to cats and dogs, so wash your pet’s paws after walking down the street and keep chemicals out of reach.
-Finally, bathing your dog can remove essential oils from their skin and fur that keep them moisturized, so try to keep baths to a minimum if possible.

To make sure your four-legged friends are safe this winter, be sure to keep their fur longer for added warmth, use a pet-safe moisturizer on their skin and paws, avoid potentially harmful chemicals like antifreeze and road salts, and limit their time outside in harsh weather conditions.
