Not every spine problem requires surgery. In fact, most patients with back or neck pain improve through non-surgical treatments like physical therapy, chiropractic care, acupuncture, and steroid injections.

🎥 In this SpineFirst education video, Dr. E. Hunter Dyer, neurosurgeon at Carolina NeuroSurgery & Spine Associates with over 30 years of experience, explains:

• How surgeons determine when surgery may be urgent
• Why most patients benefit from non-operative treatments first
• How collaboration with pain specialists helps patients manage symptoms
• Why the majority of spine problems can be managed without surgery

At CNSA, we take a personalized approach to care, helping each patient explore the most effective options for relief, with surgery considered only when it’s the best path forward.
