This March, Promise Resource Network opened the doors of our new respite, the Retreat @ The Cabin. 🏡

The Retreat @ The Cabin is a free, peer-run space in Cabarrus County where adults can come to rest, connect, and reset during times of mental stress, crisis, or emotional overwhelm. No pressure, no judgment, no barriers. Just real support from people who have lived it before.

Desmond came to PRN during a difficult time in his life, while staying in a shelter and doing everything he could to keep moving forward. What he found at PRN was more than just resources. It was a sense of community, belonging, and possibility.

Through classes and encouragement, Desmond gained valuable life skills and discovered new opportunities. Desmond followed through, stayed consistent, and worked toward his goal. Today, he’s a licensed cosmetologist, practicing in his field and building a future he once could only imagine.

Build your own path to wellness and recovery with our Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) training.

This 10-hour, facilitator-led course helps participants create a personalized plan for maintaining wellness, identifying triggers and early warning signs, building coping tools, and developing action steps for difficult periods, including a Crisis Plan for additional support. Through guided activities, reflection, and peer discussion, you’ll leave with practical tools to support ongoing well-being and recovery.
