Promise Resource Network

Promise Resource Network Through community initiatives, PRN offers free, open access supports and resources for people who experience mental health and substance use challenges.

Promise Resource Network, Inc. was started in 2006 in Charlotte, NC as Mecklenburg’s PROMISE to embrace all people and create opportunities for wellness, healing, and transformation. PRN is a peer-run organization that employs people in recovery to partner with individuals, families, communities and organizations to advance recovery from emotional distress, mental health and substance use challenges. PRN's services are contributing to the development of a recovery-oriented behavioral health system where recovery is valued, expected, supported and funded.

How we speak to ourselves matters. Instead of fighting your inner critic, try noticing it and responding with care. The same patience and understanding you offer others should be extended to yourself as well.

“You are allowed to grow with support, compassion, and choice.”

Grateful for this partnership and excited to see the Recovery Hub thriving in its new space!

Grateful for this partnership and excited to see the Recovery Hub thriving in its new space!

Alliance Health has partnered with Promise Resource Network (PRN) and Wake County Government to open the Triangle Recovery Hub in a new location in downtown Raleigh. The Hub is a peer-led place where people in recovery from substance use or mental health challenges can find support, resources, and a real sense of belonging.

Peer support offers significant mental health and recovery benefits by connecting individuals with shared experiences, fostering empathy, and reducing isolation. It provides a supportive, non-judgmental environment that boosts confidence and hope.

The Recovery Hub is conveniently located near bus routes at 310 North Harrington Street, and is open from 8:30am to noon on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, and from 8:30am to 4:00pm on Thursday. A calendar of events for the Hub can be found at https://cstu.io/64ecc1.

Also open at the new location is the Café, a welcoming environment where people can commit to community service work and lead "circles" where open discussions are shared as they work together towards recovery over a nutritious meal.

Yesterday Promise Resource Network officially opened the Raleigh Recovery Hub & Café with a Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening celebration. It was meaningful to bring together our staff, peers, community partners, and supporters to honor this next step in expanding our peer-led work! 🏢💚

We extend our sincere appreciation to those who spoke and helped mark this occasion:
• Cherene Caraco, Chief Executive Officer – Promise Resource Network
• Kelly Crosbie, Executive Director – NC Department of Health and Human Services
• Sean Schreiber, Chief Operating Officer – Alliance Health
• Don Mial, Chair County Commissioner – Wake County Government

The Raleigh Recovery Hub & Café will serve as a space for connection, healing, and shared experience where survivors can gather, support one another, and grow through stories of recovery and resilience. We’re excited to bring our peer-led services to the Raleigh community! 🎉🙌

Boundaries show up in different ways. Some protect our inner world, while others protect our physical space and well-being. Both help us stay grounded and intentional in how we engage with ourselves and others.

Honoring your boundaries is a form of self-respect. It is a way of caring for what matters most, especially during seasons that invite reflection and self-love.

We love our community. We know Valentine’s Day can hold many different emotions, and it does not look the same for everyone. Whether this day brings warmth, reflection, or something quieter, there is space for it here. You deserve care, patience, and connection in whatever way feels right for you.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Love in practice is built the same way any lasting recipe is made: with intention, balance, and repetition. This Valentine’s Edition reminds us that care does not have to be complicated to be meaningful. When we choose what feels doable and return to it consistently, love becomes something we practice, not something we wait for.

This month, we invite you to reflect on your own recipe for love in practice.
