Loss of smell is often related to nasal inflammation or blockage, especially after a recent viral illness or with ongoing allergies/chronic rhinitis. It can also be caused by sinusitis with nasal polyps or structural issues such as a deviated septum.

If your loss of smell lasts longer than 2–3 weeks, persists or worsens, or is accompanied by significant congestion, facial pressure, or one-sided symptoms, it’s a good reason to see an ENT.

Call our office or request an appointment online for an evaluation.

Earwax is normal, it protects the ear canal. Problems usually come from removing it incorrectly.

❌ Avoid:
• Q-tips (often push wax deeper)
• Ear candling (not recommended)

✅ Safer options:
• Clean only the outer ear with a washcloth
• If you feel blocked, get an exam—wax isn’t the only cause of hearing changes

👨🏻‍⚕️Seek care if: pain, drainage, sudden hearing change, dizziness, or prior ear surgery/perforation.

Think wax may be the issue? Schedule a quick ear exam with our ENT team.

If you wake up congested, dry, or unrested, start with the basics: humidification, saline, and a consistent sleep routine. If symptoms persist, there may be an underlying issue, such as allergies, chronic inflammation, or nasal obstruction.

If you’d like a clear diagnosis and a plan, schedule an evaluation with our team. Call our office to request an appointment today!
