I am a physical therapist but not in the traditional sense.

I began my training in John Barnes Mofascial Release (aka MFR) over a decade ago and discovered through my own experience how we can access subconscious memories through unwinding of our physical bodies.

When I brought this modality to my practice, I quickly realized I didn’t have the training or capacity to guide others in processing the surfacing memories…

Until I attended a self healing retreat in 2023 and became acquainted with hypnotherapy and breathwork (aka Hypno-Breathwork).

Now 3 years later, I am in awe of the path that led me to here, creating my own version of physical therapy… where I am a facilitator of your own healing…

through the body, through the breath, and into the heart. 💜

You can see the toll it takes on the body to “carry a load”… my right neck muscle is extremely active and having to support my breathing since my ribcage is locked down on the right.

Many of the clients I see have a ribcage that is locked down and a shoulder blade that is tipped forward on the right side even though is no observable “physical” load…

“Why the right side?” That is exactly what my client asked herself when we were dropped into relaxation during fascial release to this area yesterday….

And guess what? As I held her right arm, her intuitive wisdom held the answer…. “It’s because my heart is on the other side… on the left…and I’m trying to be strong over here on the right.”

Everyday, I get to hear the wisdom that each of you carry within, I am always astonished at how quickly it comes through in a safe guided space. And how the physical tension dissolves when the emotional burden you’ve been carrying is witnessed.

❓What is happening here?

Placing your giant latissimus dorsi muscle on stretch so you can allow it to LET GO…

💨To restore expansion of air into the side of your body, usually needed on the right....

Inhale and exhale for at least 4 breaths here… or until you feel a release in the tension followed by sense of expansion in your side…

If you don’t feel anything, try dropping your left shoulder down so the left trunk is more “crunched” together … any different?

When the HIPS do not have the freedom they need to generate athletic power, the required motion and force is going to come from somewhere else…

So it’s quite easy to ask the hamstring to do more than its capable of or the ankle to torque for you.

⚽️I’ve got a middle school soccer player of my own and at this age, there is quick growth…. The neuromuscular habits may not have caught up…

🏋️‍♂️You might be sitting at a desk all day, you might be lifting heavy weights or you might even be a competitive athlete…

In any case, if you’re not returning yourself to a neutral pelvis and ribcage position, you’re maintaining muscle imbalances….

Often overdeveloped pectoral (chest) and latissimus (back) muscles….

❌This technique is often one I initially teach to SHUT DOWN these overactive muscle groups and bring harmony back to diaphragm mechanics.

🫀Poor diaphragm mechanics = poor vagal nerve stimulation

➡️➡️➡️dysregulation in all the systems it impacts…

Vocal cord function
Heart rate variability
Gut motility
Respiratory rate
Elimination
Immune resilience
Limbic system/mood

…. And on it goes.

🪷When the energy surrounding old belief patterns is uprooted, emotions are processed, new beliefs are created and the body is expanded….

🌳 Amy and I sure felt this expansion after holding space for 10 courageous souls at our Rooted and Rising Breathwork event last night.

🙌To our participants, thank you for showing up for yourselves… when one heals, we all heal. We can create more peace in this world by uncovering it within ourselves 🕊️
