Ahhh, May is here. I can’t believe we’re already into the fifth month of the year. These last few months have just zoomed by. I tend to go inward during the warmer months and become more active and expressive in the cooler ones....

Why Sexual Wellness Matters:

**Improves Overall Health: Sexual health is closely connected to physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

**Empowers Confidence: Addressing concerns like pain, libido, or intimacy issues can significantly boost self-esteem.

**Enhances Relationships: Prioritizing s*xual health helps improve communication and connection with partners.

**Addresses Hidden Concerns: Many conditions affecting s*xual health, such as hormonal imbalances or pelvic floor issues, often go undiagnosed—early care can make all the difference.

**Supports Holistic Care: At She Heals, we believe in treating the whole person, not just the symptoms.

Together, let’s make this year a celebration of empowerment, healing, and growth.

Let’s Debunk Some Myths About Sexual Health & Wellness

Sexual health is an important part of our overall well-being, yet there are so many myths and misconceptions out there. Let’s set the record straight and create a space for open, honest conversations about it. Here are a few common myths we should all be aware of:

Myth 1: “You can’t get pregnant if you have s*x during your period.”
Fact: While it’s less likely, it’s still possible to get pregnant during your period, especially if you have a shorter cycle. S***m can survive in the body for several days, so if you ovulate soon after your period, pregnancy is possible.

Myth 2: “All women should experience or**sm during s*x.”
Fact: Not everyone experiences or**sm in the same way—or at all—during s*x. It’s important to understand that s*xual pleasure is highly individual, and or**sm isn’t the only measure of a healthy s*xual experience.

Myth 3: “If you’re on birth control, you don’t need to worry about STIs.”
Fact: Birth control methods like the pill or IUDs are great for preventing pregnancy, but they don't protect against s*xually transmitted infections (STIs). Condoms are the best way to reduce STI risk during s*x.

Myth 4: “Men always want s*x, and women don’t.”
Fact: Desire for s*x varies widely between individuals, regardless of gender. Sexual desire is influenced by many factors, including emotional connection, stress, and physical health—there’s no one-size-fits-all approach.

Myth 5: “Sexual health is only about the physical aspects.”
Fact: Sexual health also involves emotional, mental, and social well-being. Healthy communication, mutual respect, and feeling safe are key components of a positive s*xual experience.

Have you heard any myths about s*xual health? Drop them in the comments, and let’s get the facts straight together! If you have any questions or want to learn more, don’t hesitate to ask—we're here to help!
