We’re celebrating a successful year with Invision Diagnostics. The Invision Mammogram Bus visited 14 CCPN practice sites and screened hundreds of patients, helping close critical care gaps for Medicare and Commercial patients.

Thank you to the adult Blue Premier practices that scheduled the bus. Our custom T-shirts were a hit and made mammogram event days feel unified and festive.

There can be many reasons why women feel nervous about getting screened or avoid their mammograms completely. Let’s clear up a few common myths and concerns:

1️⃣ Mammograms are too painful→ They shouldn’t be painful, just briefly uncomfortable. Our technologists are trained to make your experience quick and gentle.

2️⃣ If you don’t have symptoms, you don’t need one→ Most breast cancers are found before symptoms appear. Regular screenings help catch changes early.

3️⃣ The radiation from mammograms is dangerous→ Mammograms use a very small amount of radiation, well within safe limits. The benefit far outweighs the risk.

4️⃣ Breast cancer doesn’t affect young, healthy people→ While risk increases with age, breast cancer can occur earlier. Knowing your personal risk is important.

5️⃣ Mobile units aren’t as accurate as hospital screenings→ Our mobile 3D mammogram buses use the same advanced imaging technology and deliver hospital-quality results.

Closing out Breast Cancer Awareness month, our CHWs and Referrals teams are educating Affinity Health Center patients about the importance of routine screening for breast cancer. Through a partnership with Invision Diagnostics , the Mammogram Bus comes to Affinity about twice a month allowing many of our patients convenient access to screening mammograms.
