I’ve been on the lookout for a new dehydrator ever since mine stopped working. I finally found one online, but before I could go pick it up, my son got sick and I had to put it off. The next day, I followed up with the lady to explain what happened—and to my surprise, she told me I could have it for FREE! 🥹 She said she was paying it forward.

This truly brought tears to my eyes because the Lord knows just how much I needed one for my business. It was such a reminder that when we pour into others, blessings always have a way of circling back. 🙌🏾

So, whenever you see me with a cooler in hand, just know I’m on a mission—a mission to support and uplift as many women and families as I can when it comes to birth, healing, and nurturing life. 💜

✨🤱🏾 It’s **National Black Breastfeeding Week**! 🌺🤍

August is recognized as **Breastfeeding Awareness Month**, and from **August 25th–31st** we uplift and celebrate Black breastfeeding mothers. Sadly, Black women remain the least likely group to breastfeed—often because of systemic barriers, lack of resources, and historical challenges.

I feel deeply honored to have breastfed all four of my babies. It’s been such a gift to provide them not only with nourishment, but also comfort, closeness, and love. I know my strong support system made this journey possible, and I recognize that not every Black mother has that same privilege. That’s why I feel blessed to walk alongside other moms on their breastfeeding journey.

💛 If you’re considering breastfeeding—please give yourself a chance and don’t give up.
💛 If you know a mom who wants to try—encourage her, uplift her, and be her support.
Every bit of love, support, and recognition matters.

Jackie Overton is a compassionate birth and postpartum doula, healthcare professional, and proud mother of four. Originally from the heart of Chicago and now based in Lexington, South Carolina, Jackie blends clinical insight with heartfelt support to help families feel seen, heard, and cared for during life’s most sacred transitions.

Trained through the Madriella Doula Network and deeply rooted in holistic, culturally aware care, Jackie has supported a diverse range of families — including BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and teen mothers — through empowering birth and postpartum journeys. Her background in maternal and newborn care, combined with her administrative expertise in healthcare systems, allows her to bridge the gap between medical spaces and personal connection.
