We are gearing up for Summer Fun! Are you? ☀️ Here are some tips for staying happy & healthy in the heat:

☀️Sunscreen is your best friend: Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher, and reapply every two hours (or more often if swimming or sweating).

👒Wear protective clothing: Long sleeves, wide-brimmed hats, and sunglasses help shield your skin and eyes from UV rays.

💧Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water to keep cool and avoid dehydration.

🌴Seek shade: When the sun is strongest (usually between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.), take breaks in the shade.

🛣️Be mindful of surfaces: Sand, water, and pavement reflect sunlight and can increase your exposure.

😵‍💫Watch out for symptoms of heat-related illnesses: Dizziness, excessive sweating, nausea, and confusion are signs of heat exhaustion or heatstroke—if you experience them, get to a cool place and hydrate immediately.

In today’s Lab Series, we’re covering Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH)! This measurement helps us spot conditions like hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism. When untreated, they can lead to further metabolic and hormonal complications, so it is worth considering a measurement early!

As always, TSH tests are available for only $3 at Priority Care without additional lab fees that you may see at other locations.
