Why you should be strength training! ⬇️

Strength training is the most beneficial form of exercise for many reasons and something I encourage all of my clients to do. The benefits go far beyond just your physical appearance.

Benefits of Strength Training include..

- Increased Energy

- Improved mobility

- Improved Cognitive brain function

- Helps Improve Bone Density

- Makes daily tasks easier such as going up and down stairs and lifting objects

The physical benefits of Strength Training are an easy selling point but it’s these other aspects that will be vastly improved for you if you pick up a barbell and start lifting!

You don’t realize your body’s potential until you start to put it to the test. I promise if you implement strength training into your lifestyle it will change you life for the better!

What is Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR), why does it slow down, and why it’s important to maintain a high RMR!

Your Resting Metabolic Rate is the rate at which your body burns energy when it is at complete rest.

Basically it’s the amount of energy your body requires to function, think, breath, sleep, etc. You get the idea!

Your Resting Metabolism slows down for many different reasons such as aging, changes in hormones, and poor nutrition habits.

As we age our body loses muscle mass naturally over time so it is important to be on top of our game with nutrition and exercise!

This is why I encourage all of my clients to strength train and pay attention to the food they’re eating!

This also plays into why I encourage my clients to track food to ensure they’re eating ENOUGH! More often than not I find that they’re underrating and slowing down their metabolism!

Instead of focusing on seeing the scale drop you’re better off spending your time building up your metabolism with proper eating and strength training to put on as much muscle mass as possible!

The more pounds of muscle you can out on the higher your resting metabolism will become!

So remember, the key to a decent resting metabolism is to focus on eating enough quality food, strength training, getting the proper amount of sleep regularly, and keeping your stress to a minimum!

If you can manage those things you’ll find your metabolism running smoothly!

Why my clients are able to lose weight while enjoying foods they love and still having a social life on the weekends⬇️

I work 1 on 1 with my clients to develop a routine with their nutrition and workouts that works for them, and is specific to their lifestyle!

We don’t demonize food groups

The goal should be to find a sustainable balanced routine that you can stick to and that isn’t forcing you to miss out on living your life and making memories with your friends and family!

The diet industry does a really good job of selling the lie to us that we have to demonize certain food groups if we want to lose weight.

They try to paint a picture of health that simply isn’t true.

It’s easy to sell a flashy headline of “Lose 30 pounds in a month”

But that’s a fantasy

Reality is weight loss is a slow process

That doesn’t mean it has to be miserable though!

Understanding the importance of a balanced diet of proteins, fats, and carbs unlocks nutritional freedom!

“You can’t fail if you don’t quit”

That’s a quote I heard that always stuck with me

It reminds me that anyone can do anything if they just keep showing up and bringing consistent effort to reach their desired outcome

In the game of health in fitness there is no end game there is just day after day of building and improving

I always remind my clients to look at this fitness journey as a pursuit of finding sustainable routine and finding enjoyment in it.

The reasons for paying attention to your diet and exercising are obvious but you should also be doing it in a way that’s fun for YOU

If it’s not fun then find a new approach, there are many different ways to skin a cat as they say.

Some people like bodybuilding, some people like powerlifting, some people like group classes, some people enjoy yoga or spin class.

The key is finding what you enjoy and can stick with for the long term because the journey of staying fit is never ending!

Tips for Staying consistent when the emotions of starting our fitness journey wear off!

Something I’ve noticed that usually happens when we start our fitness journey is the excitement and emotions of making an important lifestyle change for ourselves is at an all time high!

We get so excited about what the future holds for us because this time is going to be different.

This time we’re going to stay consistent and not fall off with our diet and workout routine.

We jump into going to the gym 6-7 days a week for 2 hours right from the start.

But that’s actually a BIG mistake.

Your body isn’t used to the stress you’re putting it under and you will quickly overtrain and wear yourself down.

I have 3 tips for anyone just getting started with their fitness journey!

1️⃣- Start off with realistic expectations, this is going to be a long process of consistency and building new habits for yourself. There’s no way around that.

2️⃣- Do not try to create shortcuts to success by dumping a bunch of money into supplements. Get yourself a gym membership and get yourself a solid workout plan.

3️⃣- Create a routine that fits your lifestyle, 3-4 workouts a week for the first few months, track your calories, and get enough sleep 7-8 hours a night.

If you stick to those things I can’t promise you’ll become Mr. Olympia but it will put you in a great position to make this thing last.

At the end of the day you’re going to the gym to look better, feel better, and improve your life.

So do yourself a favor and take it one day at a time. Nothing worth having comes easy! You got this💪

Online Client Results

Online Client has been working with me for a little over 3 weeks now and is making great progress!

Jake came to me with the goal of leaning out and revealing his abs.

Before we started working together Jake was eating the same boring food every day and doing tons of cardio.

Now he eats foods that he enjoys and is able to fit those into his macros.

He’s eating way more calories then he was before we started and doing minimal cardio.

He’s already down 6 pounds and seeing his strength go up!

I’m excited for the finished product 💪
