Is your spouse really ignoring you or is it hearing loss? We see this every day in our office. Sometimes it’s just as simple as having wax removed or in some cases hearing is normal, but because of previous head injuries, the brain is not able to process and it makes it hard to hear. No matter what, send in your loved one if you’re concerned, and let’s check their hearing!

Hearing loss is not always obvious. Every week patients come in for a hearing test, and it shows a 50% loss in their hearing . They actually feel like they hear fine! What they don’t realize is that they are reading lips and concentrating extra hard in order to hear. This is why we think Alzheimer’s is more common in patients with hearing loss. When people are working harder to hear their brain gets tired and is less able to avoid mental deterioration. Be on the safe side, check your hearing today, especially if you are over age 50!

What we do...

At South Lake Hearing and Tinnitus Center, we pride ourselves on our patient-centric approach to healthcare. We understand that quality patient care goes beyond a diagnostic evaluation, and we strive to provide each patient the time and attention they deserve. Our audiologists have experience diagnosing hearing disorders in adult and pediatric populations, and providing treatment in the form of hearing aids, cochlear implants, and communication counseling to adult and school-age children. We have a passion for educating tinnitus patients on the etiology of their symptoms, and working with them to develop a specialized treatment plan.
