Quick trip with Mom to Jacksonville for a CT angiogram earlier this month

So Tonya and I week at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville last week for transplant evaluation. If you don’t know what that consists of…..it is an exhausting week containing 29 appointments that range from blood work, scans, testing, and consultations.
We hit traffic on our way home Saturday and our 6 hour trip took 8+ hours.
The transplant committee met last night and determined that it’s too soon for me to be co sidered for a transplant at this time because I do t have bleeding esophageal varies or acites (fluid build up in the abdomen). So they are switching me over to the hepatology department to be followed by their doctors who will determine when I need to be re-evaluated for a transplant.
I am thankful to have Duke and Mayo watching me and my case. They are the #1 and #2 facilities in the world.
