“With children, ADHD will have more of an impact on learning at home and school,” Capanna-Hodge says. “Children have more support in place at home and school that allow them to be more successful. With adults, ADHD can be seen in more habitual patterns that can positively or negatively impact one in their careers and relationships.”

"Analyzing data from patients in the U.S. and several other countries, researchers found that within the first two months of getting COVID-19, people were more likely to experience anxiety and depression than people who got a different type of respiratory infection. And for up to two years after, people remained at greater risk for conditions such as brain fog, psychosis, seizures, and dementia."

Resarch has increasingly shown that exercise protects against Alzheimer's disease. "That’s because exercise doesn’t just increase muscle tone. It doesn’t just goose energy levels and enhance mood, fighting depression and anxiety. It also heightens problem-solving skills and memory. And, research has increasingly shown, it protects against Alzheimer’s disease—both delaying onset of the disease and slowing decline in patients who have already been diagnosed."

What an exciting scientific development! "A team of US researchers has developed a patch that, when worn on the back of the neck, may help predict concussion risk in high-contact sports like football or judo. The flexible patch, called the FENG and described in a paper in Scientific Reports, senses the movement and acceleration of the neck – which has been shown to be linked to concussion risk."

In this recent article on CNBC, a woman recounts her experience with undiagnosed ADHD. "At one staff writing job, for example, I remember being overwhelmed constantly. The directives themselves were pretty simple: create daily slideshows, send boss potential language to introduce pieces on social media, research content for future work. But remembering it all and having it be somehow organized in my brain was impossible. It felt like there was no way those tasks were going to stick and straighten out. It was just too much information all at once."

"Now, a new study has good news when it comes to giving women a chance to reduce their increased risk. Personalized lifestyle interventions -- such as diet, exercise, stress reduction and sleep hygiene -- were able to reduce Alzheimer's risk factors in both sexes, but they worked even better in women."
