Did you know that chronic inflammation doesn’t just affect the body—it can significantly impact the brain as well. 🧠

We don’t have fences in the body so inflammation in one area is inflammation everywhere.

When cytokines are elevated, they can cross the blood-brain barrier and alter key neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine.

In kids, this often shows up as:
⚡ Difficulty focusing or paying attention
😤 Irritability, mood swings, or emotional reactivity
😴 Fatigue, low motivation, or “brain fog”

Supporting gut health, nourishing with anti-inflammatory foods, ensuring quality sleep, and reducing environmental toxins can help calm inflammation—and give your child’s brain the support it needs to thrive. 💛

Our core 4 bundle is specifically designed to do this.

Unexpected Signs of Low Magnesium 👀

Trouble falling or staying asleep
Restless legs or “growing pains”
Irritability, anxiety, or big emotional swings

And of course, constipation.

These don’t automatically mean a diagnosis —They’re clues. Kids’ bodies give us, we just have to know how to interpret them. 🔎

Magnesium is a foundational nutrients required by over 300 enzymes in the body and it’s the mineral that allows muscles to relax. Yet, many kids fall short — from picky eating, modern diets, and medication depletion.

When sleep, muscles, mood, or digestion feel off, magnesium is often one of the first places to start.

Save this for later and share with a parent who needs this reminder 🤍

Every January, without fail, I hear the same thing from parents…

“Bloating.” “Constipation.” “Eczema flares.” “They just seem off.”

If that’s your house right now—you’re not alone. The holidays disrupt routines, and the gut feels it first.

When digestion slows, it shows up on the skin, in mood, and in overall comfort.

👩‍⚕️Integrative pediatrician reminder:

January isn’t about detoxing or punishment. It’s about a gentle return to rhythm. Start simple. Support digestion.

Small steps → big shifts 🤍

Save this if January feels heavy in your home.

Step‑by‑step approach when a child has chronic symptoms like reflux, eczema, constipation, belly pain, recurrent infection, asthma, anxiety, and ADHD:

1️⃣ Gut health – this is the root of digestion, it houses 70% of the immune system, and directly impacts mood because the gut bacteria play a significant role in the production of serotonin, our feel good neurotransmitter, addressing the gut is the quickest way to improve our physical and mental health (adults and children)

2️⃣ Inflammation – chronic inflammation impacts everything from focus to energy to the immune system. When we decrease systemic inflammation, our immune cells are able to function optimally. So many parents tell me their child’s immune system is “weak”. What I tell them is that we just need to support their system, so the immune cells can actually function the way they were designed to!

3️⃣ Mitochondria – the cell’s powerhouse; fatigue often starts here and when we support the mitochondria, our body is able to produce the ATP needed for great energy and recovery from physical activity. Few things are better for the immune system than physical activity so we have to make sure the kids have energy to go play and run around outside.

4️⃣ Nutrient gaps – even small deficiencies can amplify symptoms, iron, magnesium, zinc, vitamin D - these are just a few of the vitamins and minerals that are absolutely critical for our immune systems. Low sunshine and processed foods do not get the job done! Most kids and adults need supplements to get adequate amounts.

Think of it like peeling back layers—and having a roadmap to get the immune system strengthened by address the root cause, not just putting a bandaid on the symptoms. 💛

The best place to start is our Foundational Bundle + Magnesium. And to read my book!

Supplement labels don’t tell you everything you think they do.

Most parents look at the milligram strength of a capsule or supplement and assume the higher the number, the better. But that number doesn’t really tell us much.

What matters more is the quality of the supplement and whether or not it can be absorbed.

If the supplement is not well absorbed, it’s not helpful.
