Celebrating Success. Our ACT Team is truly amazing and helping their clients in every way possible to achieve their goals. Molly McGirt, BSN, DNP, PMHNP-BC shared the below as one of many examples of the support the ACT Team provides day in and day out.
"When this client first entered ACT services, he was experiencing severe mania-induced psychosis that eventually led to homelessness. His case was considered extremely high acuity, drawing attention not only from Alliance but even reaching the Secretary of State of North Carolina due to ongoing concerns from his natural supports about his mental health and the risks he posed to himself and others.
During this period, he endured multiple hospitalizations, court involvements, and incarcerations. Despite these challenges, the ACT Team remained consistent and unwavering in their support. Through the combined efforts of all specialties on the team—psychiatric care, therapy, case management, nursing, and peer support—he was able to stabilize his psychiatric symptoms and take meaningful steps toward recovery.
With intensive wraparound support, the ACT Team helped him secure housing and begin rebuilding his life. Today, he is living independently, maintaining his housing, and has not had any recent hospitalizations or incarcerations. His progress demonstrates not only his resilience but also the power of collaborative, person-centered care.
The client and his natural supports express deep gratitude for the ACT Team’s dedication, noting how their continuous support has allowed him to achieve stability and live a functional, independent life despite the challenges of severe mental illness. His story is a powerful example of hope, recovery, and the impact of comprehensive community-based care."
Thank you to Molly and the entire ACT Team for truly outstanding care!
