New Year’s Eve is one of our busiest nights of the year and we are already significantly strained. Please help us take care of the patients that are facing life-threatening situations & call 911 for true emergencies only. Schedule a COVID-19 test outside of the emergency healthcare system. Non-emergent conditions could experience increased wait times.

Today is EMS for Children's Day! GEMS has several options for young people to learn about EMS throughout the year. One program available to children between the ages of 8 years and 15 years is the annual Kids Academy. During the academy, children are taught about EMS, all the different job roles and responsibilities our Paramedics and EMTs are expected to perform. They also have the opportunity to perform skills we utilize to help save lives. Pictured below, a student cuts through a windshield during an extrication exercise.

Thor went to "work" today. He wants everyone to know he has the best job in the world. He gets to see so many people, get belly rubs and fall asleep, all while bringing smiles and tail wags to the crews and staff at Mecklenburg EMS Agency - Medic

Thor did an appearance at SPCC this afternoon for the CISM class Cpt. Burns was teaching that SPCC and MHPC collectively sponsor for all regional partners to take.

He wanted to register for some psychology courses while we're there, but I told him maybe next time.
