Family night was a huge hit! We had an incredible turnout for a delicious dinner of ribs, barbecue, hot dogs, and all the fixings. A huge thank you to Todd Drye for the great music that set the perfect mood! The real showstopper was the legendary "Fashion Show Extravaganza" with our residents, expertly emceed by our fantastic Resident Engagement Coordinator, Millie. What a night of fun, food, and family. We can't wait for the next one!

A grand slam event at Brookdale South Charlotte! ⚾📖

We had a truly memorable afternoon at Brookdale South Charlotte recently, when we were honored to host the incredible Larry Keith, a legend in the world of sports journalism and a member of the North Carolina Journalism Hall of Fame. He captivated our residents with stories from his illustrious career at Sports Illustrated and provided fascinating insights into his new book, "Touch 'em All: My Life and Career at Sports Illustrated."

Larry shared highlights from his decades at Sports Illustrated, where he wrote 19 cover stories and spearheaded the creation of Sports Illustrated For Kids.
We were thrilled to hear his captivating tales and learn about the inside world of sports and media. It was an inspiring event for everyone who attended!

Our residents had a truly enriching and inspiring day at the Mint Museum in Charlotte exploring the incredible "ANNIE LEIBOVITZ / WORK" exhibition! They immersed themselves in the captivating world of one of the most iconic photographers of our time, witnessing her remarkable ability to capture intimacy and personality in her portraits of artists, musicians, politicians, and more. From her groundbreaking work for Rolling Stone to her stunning images for Vanity Fair and Vogue, residents were able to appreciate the breadth and depth of Leibovitz's five-decade career. It was an unforgettable experience filled with artistic appreciation and engaging conversations!

We had the pleasure of welcoming Rev./Dr. Laura Alexander Elliot to Brookdale. Laura is the daughter of Norma A. (resident). She shared her heart and vision behind her new book she co-authored about Charlotte's own Declaration of Independence. "One Day Revolution" sparked meaningful conversations among our residents. It was a wonderful afternoon filled with stories, insights and connection. Thank you, Laura, for spending time with us and leaving us inspired to learn more!

Our Brookdale residents took to the skies, in spirit, with a memorable trip to the Sullenberger Aviation Museum. From historic aircraft to hands-on exhibits, we explored the wonders of aviation and celebrated the bravery and innovation behind each display. The smiles were soaring, the stories were flying, and the curiosity was nonstop. What a fun and inspiring day with great company and even greater memories!
