One of the most cherished traditions at The Cypress has returned, and our community couldn’t be more delighted. This year’s gingerbread house — thoughtfully crafted by Executive Chef Richard Kwarteng — is modeled after our own Cypress Clubhouse, a place our members know well and hold close to heart.

Drawing on his background in architecture, Chef Richard spent the last several weeks bringing this edible work of art to life, balancing its intricate details with his daily responsibilities in the kitchen. Each season, this project offers him a meaningful creative outlet, and it has become something our members eagerly anticipate year after year.

Now proudly on display, this gingerbread Clubhouse is already welcoming members, families, and guests who love gathering to admire it. Seeing a place that feels like home reflected in such a whimsical, handcrafted way adds a special touch of warmth to our holiday season — a sweet reminder of the community spirit that makes The Cypress so exceptional. ❄️⛄

Our Wine Dinner, A Taste of the Amazon, was an evening of exploration, elegance, and extraordinary flavors. The journey began with a mini corn arepa amuse-bouche paired with Segura Viudas Cava Brut, followed by the vibrant leche de tigre with Columna Rias Baixas Albariño. Venezuelan quinoa salad found its perfect companion in Château Minuty Rosé, and a mini hallaca was elevated by Sokol Blosser Pinot Noir.

The main course—rich Asado Negro with cassava—was paired with Bodegas LAN Rioja, and dessert, a refreshing green papaya creation, glimmered alongside Michele Chiarlo Moscato d’Asti Nivole.

A heartfelt thank you to Kevin Tabor and Hayden Gurley for sharing your wine expertise and guiding us through these thoughtful pairings. To Chef Maribel Mendoza, your creativity and passion brought the Amazon to life on every plate. And to Kris Hilton, Michelle Doggett, and Brayden Conley—your warmth and attention to detail created a welcoming, unforgettable atmosphere.

Most importantly, thank you to our members💚—because the true magic of evenings like this isn’t just in the food or wine, but in the company we keep.
