Folic acid is in most vitamins—but your kid might not be able to use it.

Here’s what every parent should know:
• Up to 60% of kids have a common genetic variant (MTHFR C677T) that affects how their body processes folic acid.
• Folic acid is the synthetic form of folate (vitamin B9) found in most supplements and fortified foods.
• This variant can limit their ability to convert folic acid into the usable form of folate—leaving their cells undernourished even when they’re taking vitamins.
• That matters, especially for kids who struggle with focus, mood regulation, immunity, or energy. Folate is critical for brain development, detox pathways, and DNA repair.
• What’s worse? Many products use folic acid in high doses, but skip the active forms that kids’ bodies can actually use.

My passion has always been helping create a safer world for our kids, and so despite working full time in CT and CVE, it felt intuitive to create a children’s supplement brand after I started asking questions and pulling back the curtain on the industry. I saw a problem that personally affected me as a mother, and grew tired of waiting for someone else to fix it.

I’m often asked how I do two things that seem unrelated, but to me they couldn’t be more connected (and anyone working in CT can tell you, wearing multiple hats feels totally normal). We want children and their families to feel safe, feel that they have choices, and hopefully to be able to make informed choices. I feel so lucky I get to play a small role in this.
