Folic acid is in most vitamins—but your kid might not be able to use it.
Here’s what every parent should know:
• Up to 60% of kids have a common genetic variant (MTHFR C677T) that affects how their body processes folic acid.
• Folic acid is the synthetic form of folate (vitamin B9) found in most supplements and fortified foods.
• This variant can limit their ability to convert folic acid into the usable form of folate—leaving their cells undernourished even when they’re taking vitamins.
• That matters, especially for kids who struggle with focus, mood regulation, immunity, or energy. Folate is critical for brain development, detox pathways, and DNA repair.
• What’s worse? Many products use folic acid in high doses, but skip the active forms that kids’ bodies can actually use.
What we do differently:
• We don’t use folic acid at all.
• We use L-5-MTHF, the bioavailable form of folate that bypasses the MTHFR bottleneck.
• Every ingredient in our formulas is in its most effective, bioavailable form—or it doesn’t make the cut.
Because we made these for our own kids first—and cutting corners was never an option.
