Sending love and support to mental health workers for holding space for those fearing for women's and civil rights, while addressing their own fears stemming from the same concerns.

Also, sending love and support to the mental health workers who have to support & hold space for people who have diametrically opposed moral & ethical values from you.

Mental health providers: Take your Mental Health Day if you need it. Remember to take care of yourself in order to care for others.

PSA:
Help people show love to you in the way you want to be loved. There is nothing wrong with telling a person what you want and need.

For special occasions, stop telling people you don’t know what you want. Figure it out! If you don’t know, then other people definitely don”t know. But, you say the other person should know you by now. You don’t know you! Don’t set yourself up to be disappointed when you either get nothing or something you don’t want.

See the attached picture of what I sent my husband & kids for the upcoming Mother’s Day & my June birthday. This list just made life easier for everyone. I can’t wait to be surprised!

Parents,

Consider allowing kids, particularly ages 5 & older, to experience natural consequences. When you prevent natural consequences from occurring, you are crippling your child from learning & growing in a safe & supervised environment. The real world won’t be so enabling & “nice” to them.

If you told your child it was cold outside & to grab a jacket, but they choose not to grab a jacket, do you then give them your jacket?

Natural consequence response: Absolutely not. In my Kevin Hart voice, “they go learn today!” Or my “mental response” is to sing the song, “H naw to the naw naw naw, H naw!”

If you told your child to prepare his lunch at night, but he choose to do other things instead. Then, he didn’t have enough time to make his lunch in the morning. Do you drop what you are doing to make his lunch?

Natural consequence response: Absolutely not. “He go learn today!” He will be eating school prepared lunch today.

Life will continue to present opportunities for natural consequences to be allowed.

Parents,

We need to model character, discipline, morals, & values.

Let’s trust that our kids will eventually get it.

Remember, they can’t see our good intentions, but they can see our actions & good deeds.

As challenging as it might be, with our busy lives , to provide structure, guidance, & discipline (I’m not talking about physical), most kids need & yearn for it. This is one way we can create good, solid, and mentally sound human beings.
