Born of the coming together of three Charlotte-based yoga communities — Be Yoga, Sangati, and Heart of the Matter Yoga — we evolved into Be Yoga Collective in 2021 and then Alight in 2024. Our roots are in Anusara Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, Mindful Movement, and Ayurveda. We pay attention to alignment because it keeps us safe, sustains our practice, and helps us grow. We listen to our breath because we believe our most abiding teacher is within. We embrace diversity because it makes our community (and this world) more beautiful. Alight means both landing gracefully and lighting up…

What a month! We had a wonderful 14th annual New Year (R)evolution. 👏 I haven’t posted much about it yet, due to weather/world whiplash, but I’ll share more soon, as we journey further into the year together.

In the meantime, I’m excited to announce a new chapter for Alight: Dinner Parties! 😁

We’ve hosted Cooking Classes and Celebration Dinners with the New Year (R)evolution for years and they’re so much fun! This year, we’ll be offering more opportunities to gather in community... to learn, to connect, and to raise the bar on our indulgences, together. 🙌

Happy New Year, dear ones. I hope you’ll join me for the 14th annual New Year (R)evolution! 👏

We kick off this Saturday, January 3rd, from 1-3pm at Central Peace, my sweet little private lesson/small group space in Plaza Midwood.

✨ If you MIGHT want to join the (R)evolution, this is the session to show up for! ✨

At the Kickoff, you’ll learn all about the month ahead — including our COOKING CLASSES, AYURVEDA WORKSHOPS, and LIFESTYLE MEDICINE SESSIONS — meet other (R)evolutionaries, and make a plan for your individualized 3 week “cleanse”.

Btw, I put cleanse in quotes because the New Year (R)evolution is far from a fast. We eat and we eat well! 😍 We deepen our knowledge of anti-inflammatory, plant-strong nutrition. We practice spicing up our meals (and lives!) in new and nurturing ways. We improve our relationships with food, ourselves, and one another.

The Sacred Pause theme invites rest without collapse through slow, grounding movement, spacious transitions, and moments of mindful stillness.

The class will be calming, with an emphasis on integration and a longer closing rest, allowing students to leave feeling centered, regulated, and supported. Amid the holiday season and ongoing external stimulation, this practice offers a grounding, balancing, and centering experience to help students reconnect with the breath and body and return to a sense of steadiness and presence.
