We are conveniently located on the Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center campus in the Elizabeth neighborhood, near uptown Charlotte. We understand that weight loss is a personal journey. We can help you get started by assessing your health and taking into account your lifestyle and your past weight-loss struggles. Today for Teammate Tuesday we have Jennifer Borja, one of our Nurse Navigators. Jennifer has been with NHBSC for 8 years and she loves working here because "our team members work together so well to make sure our patients are educated and cared for." When asked why she chose a career in healthcare, she shared "My interest grew after seeing my mother as a nurse and helping her take care of my grandmother during a very difficult time. Seeing the impact she had on our family inspired me to pursue my nursing career."

On a personal note, outside of work she enjoys going thrifting and antiquing with her sister and their little boys. She also enjoys traveling and exploring new places with her husband and son. When asked what her favorite restaurant in Charlotte is she started "Steak 48- I dream of the creme brulee corn!" Her favorite place that she has ever visited is Amsterdam at Christmas, "the architecture, history, and charm of the city was something like out of a fairytale. It was so magical!"

This week for Teammate Tuesday, we are featuring Bergen Hightower, one of our Patient Services Coordinator. You can find Bergen's smiling face at the front desk in our Charlotte office where she has been at for a little over a year now. When asked what she loves about working at NHBSC she stated, "I love helping the patients, I love my teammates!" Outside of work, Bergen enjoys spending time with her kids and family, being outdoors, water sports and bird/duck hunting with her boys! She shared that becoming a mother to her children is the personal accomplishment that she is most proud of and becoming a dental hygienist and working in oral surgery is the professional accomplishment she is most proud of. If she could be given a superpower for a week, she stated "I would give my daughter new eyes to see; she has a blinding eye disease called Leber's Congenital Aumarosis."
