Trust Grows When You Feel Seen
Trust usually isn’t broken in one big moment—it’s shaped in the small, everyday ones.
At its core, strong trust often feels like this:
I am seen by my partner. I matter to them.
It shows up in simple moments like:
☕️Grabbing an extra cup of coffee for your partner in the morning
📱Sending a quick “thinking of you” text during the day
💛Remembering something they mentioned and following up later
⭐️Taking something off their plate without being asked
☺️Turning toward them when they’re sharing, instead of multitasking
These moments may seem small, but they send a powerful message:
I’m paying attention. You matter to me.
And when those moments start to slip, it can leave couples feeling a little off… even if they can’t quite name why.
The encouraging part?
Trust is something you can rebuild—starting small.
Here are three small ways to start this week:
1. Pick one small follow-through
Choose one thing you’ll do—and do it.
Consistency in the little things goes a long way.
2. Ask this question
“What helps you feel more secure or connected to me?”
Don’t assume—get curious.
3. Repair by Accepting Responsibility
When you miss something (because we all do), try:
“I said I’d do that and didn’t—I'm sorry, I know that makes you feel doubtful that you can rely on me. Let me try again.”
It doesn’t have to be perfect.
Trust isn’t built in one big conversation—it’s built in moments, over time.
If starting this conversation feels hard, that’s where we come in. We help couples slow things down, talk it through, and find a way forward that actually feels doable.
If trust has been shaken in smaller ways—or broken through bigger ruptures—we can help.Contact us (https://connectcouplestherapy.com/contact/) .

Couples in Recovery - Virtual
Recovery doesn’t end with sobriety; it often brings relationship patterns into sharper focus. We’re offering a Relationships in Recovery workshop designed for couples where one or both partners are at least 6 months post-treatment.
This workshop is ideal for couples who are working their sobriety but noticing that trust, communication, or old dynamics still need care and attention. In a small, supportive setting, couples will learn practical, research-based tools to strengthen connection, navigate conflict more effectively, and support both recovery and the relationship moving forward.
Next Date:
