What do you think of when you hear the word, repentance?
For Christians, repentance is not "I'm so sorry, I'm a worm, a depraved sinner, worthless, wretched, undeserving, unlovable, etc." Repentance should never bear burdensome, humiliating, guilt-ridden, condemning fruit.
Repentance is sadness & regret over the old, & trusting Christ has made you a new creation; an exchange between what is old, for what is new.
I am no longer ____, but I am now ______.
I no longer act ______, but can now act _____. (Romans 6:18)
It is a HOPEFUL, joyful expectancy of making room for NEW, the next level, moving forward, looking ahead. It is a pivot, a change, progressive.
It brings Life, not just eternal, but earthly Life as well -
it feels like a breath of fresh air, an internal feeling like breathing again,
or maybe finally breathing for the very first time.
It brings hope, joy, peace & energy. No matter how long you have been walking with God, you can experience more New, because God is infinite.
He is longing to bring you into the next season of expansion, of New Life for you.
If your ministry/faith leader preaches repentance that bears negative fruit, something is wrong. It is okay to question & to literally walk away. Your life is too short & too valuable to waste time with rotten fruit.
Real Jesus fruit brings LIFE, friend. ❤
