Reviews like this remind us why family systems work matters. We’re grateful to be part of so many families’ healing journeys.💛

At The Blanchard Institute, our unique approach centers on treating the whole family—not just the individual—because addiction impacts everyone it touches. As Self-Check Awareness Month comes to a close, we wanted to once again highlight some methods that can be used to practice self-care.

Being in tune with yourself and your needs is essential to improving your quality of life. We highly recommend that you take the time to enjoy the small moments as well as the larger ones.

Carve out time for you, but bear in mind that doesn't mean you have to be alone. Self-care can be time spent alone, or with loved ones. It can also mean finding support from professionals.

If you are struggling with your mental health, call us at 704-610-2735 to learn more about our programs and services. We are here to help care for you, too.

Treatment isn’t one-size-fits-all — the right level of care matters.

At The Blanchard Institute, our Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) Program allows individuals to receive the structure and support that fits their stage of recovery.

PHP provides a higher level of care with more clinical hours each week — ideal for those who need strong structure, stabilization, and daily therapeutic support.

IOP offers continued therapy and accountability with more flexibility — allowing clients to begin reintegrating into work, school, and daily life while still staying connected to treatment.

Both levels focus on healing the underlying causes of addiction and mental health challenges — not just the symptoms.

If you’re unsure which level of care is right for you or a loved one, give us a call at 704-610-2735. We’ll walk you through your options with clarity and compassion. You can also contact us via our website at https://www.theblanchardinstitute.com/contact/

Setting healthy boundaries with family isn’t about pushing people away — it’s about protecting your peace while staying connected. 💛

When addiction or mental health challenges are involved, boundaries become even more important. They help break enabling cycles, reduce resentment, and create space for real healing — not just crisis management.

At The Blanchard Institute, we believe recovery is a family process. That’s why our Family Systems Workshops are designed to help loved ones:

- Understand unhealthy patterns
- Learn practical boundary-setting tools
- Communicate without escalating conflict
- Support recovery without losing themselves

You don’t have to navigate this alone. Join us on April 10th and 11th and take the next step toward healthier and stronger family dynamics.

You can’t control someone else’s sobriety — but you are not powerless.

When someone you love is struggling with addiction, it’s natural to want to fix it, manage it, or prevent the next crisis. But recovery is not something you can force.

You can control your education about the disease, your boundaries, your responses, and your healing. You cannot control their timeline, their honesty, or their sobriety.

Shifting your energy back into your own circle of control doesn’t mean you don’t care. It means you’re choosing stability over chaos and clarity over control.

If you or a loved one are struggling with recovery from addiction, you don’t have to do it alone. Reach out to us at 704-610-2735 to learn how we support families with education, resources, and tools for healing.

Remembering to prioritize ourselves can be a challenge. When we have so many responsibilities, we tend to neglect our mental health.

Dedicating time for rest and relaxation might sound like a waste of time, but—contrary to popular belief—rest is productive. Self-care enables us to feel better about ourselves and our abilities.

When was the last time you took a few hours to yourself? And not to doomscroll!

If you are struggling with your mental health, we are here to help you get on the path best suited for your needs.

Call us at 704-610-2735 to learn more about our programs and services. You don’t have to navigate this alone.

Early recovery is brave. It’s hopeful. But it can also be incredibly hard.

Behind the milestone chips and sober days are very real challenges that don’t always get talked about enough.

When substances are removed, emotions return, patterns surface, and trust takes time to rebuild. Even free time can feel overwhelming as the brain continues to heal. Remember that none of this means you’re doing it wrong. It means you’re doing something new.

If you or someone you love is struggling while navigating early recovery, you don’t have to handle it alone. Give us a call at 704-610-2735 to learn how we can support you through this stage of your journey.

Mental health care should feel safe, affirming, and culturally responsive. 🤎

For many in the Black community, finding support that truly understands lived experience, identity, and systemic barriers can make all the difference in healing.

Today, we’re highlighting culturally responsive mental health resources across North and South Carolina — organizations and providers doing meaningful work to make care more accessible and representative.

At The Blanchard Institute, we believe everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported. While we serve individuals of all races, genders, and backgrounds, we also believe in uplifting resources that center specific communities when that support is needed.

Save this post, share it with someone who may benefit, and help us continue building a stronger, more connected mental health community in the Carolinas. 🤝

Recovery doesn’t happen in isolation, and neither should healing.

Addiction is a family disease, which is why family involvement is a core part of our programming. Education, evidence-backed care, and shared understanding help families move from confusion and fear to clarity and connection. Plus, when families heal together, recovery has a stronger foundation.

02/13/2026

This Valentine’s Day, remember to love yourself a little extra. Give grace to the parts of you that are tired, healing, or still finding their way. You are worthy of love and respect exactly as you are—no conditions, no timelines. If today feels heavy, know you’re not alone. 🤍

Our compassionate team is happy to talk things through, answer questions, and help you understand your options—even if you’re not sure what you need yet. Reaching out doesn’t mean committing to anything. It just means you don’t have to do this alone.
