POWER: TRUST IS A FEELING
Nothing should be a rational experience
Especially when it comes to our health, wellness, fitness & recovery pathways
I get it…It’s so hard to gain trust in others
Sometimes you need to “experiment” with a handful of healthcare providers until you develop that strong trust in them
If I was you, I would want someone to make “intentional deposits” into my pathways of life-span & health-span
Someone who actually gives a “toot”

-
-

🍀 TRUST IS A FEELING 🍀

Trust should continue to build upon each interaction
Trust is not transactional
Rather, trust is building a foundation in seeing & experiencing progress
In healthcare, trust is hard to develop
But trust can be made if it’s with the right provider

🍀 Who are you trusting to make “intentional deposits” into helping you progress your pathways to health, wellness, fitness & recovery? 🍀

BE “SURGICAL” ABOUT IT
If you’re really in-tune with yourself then you will know when things feel off
You don’t need to necessarily check to see what’s “going on underneath the hood” as the first line of defense
But, you probably need to assess your current circumstances of inputs & outputs

-
-

🛠️ BE “SURGICAL” ABOUT IT 🛠️

Yes, be so detailed that you feel like a surgeon at work
I am constantly checking-in with myself each day & can notice when things start to feel off-balanced
If you’re like me, build daily time to check-in with yourself
How can you “feel like a surgeon” at work?
To build better defense, I suggest assessing your main buckets or pillars of health:

🪣 Sleep

🪣 Movement / exercise

🪣 Nutrition

🪣 H2O intake

🪣 Stress management

It’s not a silly principle to abide by
Rather…
It’s making sure that you’re heading in the right direction to enhancing your health, wellness, fitness & recovery protocols when your seasons change

POWER: CREATE HEALTHY ADDICTIONS
It’s so easy to fall back into our poor habit tactics
Without awareness, we tend to continue those practices just until something serious becomes reality
Even though the dose may be small, the poor habit choices will add up in the end
Just to experience the unnecessary, serious outcomes sooner

-
-

🍎 CREATE HEALTHY ADDICTIONS 🍎

You already know that what you are currently doing now isn’t serving your future health trajectory
(Staying out until 5am in the morning that jacks up your sleep)
(Avoiding daily movement that promotes faulty weaknesses)
(Inputting social media stressors that create a negative way of thinking)

-
-

So why not try something new that can have the effect you desire to feel better then?
You’ve never done something better for yourself the right way, yet alone consistently
So you don’t really know how it may affect you in the short-term (or even the long-term)
I guess I’m trying to say that is start with a better habit & see how the effects play a role on your health trajectory
Then if it’s creating a more positive environment that helps you thrive, stick to it to CREATE HEALTHY ADDICTIONS more consistently

TREAT PATIENTS NOT PICTURES
There are plenty of times patients present “pictures” of their neck, back or shoulder to me & become too engrossed at what it shows
Healthcare providers who have the capability to image the body (e.g. X-ray, MRI, CT scans etc.) can place a negative psychological stamp on patient expectations to heal
Well…I’m here to tell you that YOU’RE NOT YOUR IMAGE

-
-

🩺 TREAT PATIENTS NOT PICTURES 🩺

Physiotherapist’s (PT) are thoroughly capable to assessing what patients are experiencing
In order to truly understand & enhance patient expectations into a pathway to healing,
The right questions must be asked
So that the right answers can be attained
Pictures (e.g. MRIs, X-rays, CT scans etc.) are only taken at a specific time period
They don’t show functional limitations nor do they predict patient symptoms or outcomes
We build patients up [NOT break them down]
Collectively, we must do better for our patients so they can have more confidence to improving their health, wellness, fitness & recovery profiles

S12:E2 — BREAKING THE HABIT IN THE WARM-UP

If your warm-up routine takes 45 to 60 minutes to “grease the groove”…
Then something needs to change
I believe there can be more effective warm-ups to help prepare your body & mind for the next portion of your exercise / training movements
And the biggest key to do that is… to listen to this episode to find out!

-
-

This is a great talk on some points that you may need to incorporate into your own warm-up routine in order to better serve your exercise / training intentions
