1. Maintain a consistent sleep schedule:

Go to bed 😴 and wake up ⏰ at the same time every day, even on weekends. This helps regulate your body's natural sleep-wake cycle (circadian rhythm). 🔄

2. Create a relaxing bedtime routine:
Wind down before bed with calming activities like reading 📖, taking a warm bath 🛀, or listening to soothing music 🎶. Avoid screens 📱 and stimulating activities at least an hour before sleep. 🚫

3. Optimize your sleep environment:

Checking Your Blood Pressure❤️🩺

If using a digital blood pressure monitor, follow the instructions that come with the device.

Find a quiet place to sit. 🧘🏿‍♀️

Rest for 5 minutes before taking your blood pressure. 😌

Avoid strenuous activity prior to checking the blood pressure and drinking caffeine

Sit up straight with your feet flat on the floor

Check your blood pressure and sit quietly with no talking or moving

Record your blood pressure reading and heart rate 📝

Checking your blood pressure is vital and doesn't have to be complicated.

High blood pressure often has no symptoms, so regular checks are key.

A healthy target blood pressure range is below 120/80 but it is important that you check your blood pressure correctly as explained in the video (watch for tips) to avoid inaccuracies.

Tips for healthy blood pressure:

🫀 If prescribed blood pressure medication - take it daily
🫀 Maintain a healthy weight
🫀 Eat a balanced diet low in sodium
🫀 Exercise regularly
