🫶Yoga has always been our love language. “My brother Bert and I have been practicing yoga together for years. I’d try to show him poses, but I wanted to guide him with real knowledge and intention,” shares Rejena Carmichael, who completed her 200 Hour Power Yoga Teacher Training in Denver this Spring.

Rejena took her first yoga class over a decade ago and always wanted to share it with Bert, who has Down syndrome. “Bert is deeply spiritual and truly embodies the essence of yoga. I wanted to make sure I was teaching him accurately, instead of just winging it.”

Now, with her training, Rejena can confidently guide both herself and her brother through mindful sequences, offer supportive assists, and weave in yoga philosophy.

“One of my favorite parts of the program was the flexibility. I could complete 9 weeks in person while taking the full year to finish the online coursework. That balance allowed me to stay committed to my practice while navigating a particularly busy season of life.”

For Rejena, becoming a yoga teacher wasn’t just about certification — it was about becoming a better sister, deepening a lifelong bond, and honoring the practice they both love. 🧡
