Victor was a Sargent in the Korean War. During his service his back was injured and left untreated for many years. After his service he drove buses for the city of Durham. Thelma worked 27 years at duke east campus in housekeeping. They lived together in their home on Otis Street for 45 years. Victor is currently in a wheelchair.

The team at Mako Medical Laboratories got together to build a porch for their house so Victor can sit outside.
