“It’s not fair!”
“I don’t want to do it!”
“This will take forever!”

Sound familiar?

If you’re a parent, chances are you hear these phrases more often than you’d like. Take heart—you are not alone.

In the 2025 updated and revised edition of Raising Flexible Kids, I help parents understand why kids argue, resist, and get angry—and more importantly, how to teach them the skill of flexible thinking.

Flexible thinking isn’t something kids are born knowing how to do. It’s a skill that must be taught, practiced, and reinforced—and it makes a huge difference at home, at school, and in friendships.

With short, easy-to-read chapters, real-world examples, and a practical (and sometimes humorous) approach, this book is designed to help you replace daily power struggles with calmer, more cooperative moments.

Your kids may not say it out loud—but they’ll thank you for it.

🌟One of the most rewarding parts of parenting is noticing when kids start using what you’ve taught them.

When a child calmly says, “No problem, I can play later,” that’s flexible thinking in action — and it doesn’t happen by accident.

Notice it. Name it. Encourage it with a word and a warm touch.

That’s exactly what I teach in Raising Flexible Kids.

The day you ask your child to turn off their game—and they calmly say,
“Sure mom, I can play it later.”

Cue the shock.
Cue the joy.
Cue the realization that this didn’t happen by accident.

Flexible thinking is taught, not lucked into—and when parents lead the way, the entire family feels the difference. Less power struggles. More cooperation. A calmer home that actually feels good to live in.

If that sounds like a good time…
you’re right. 💛

I’ve spent over 30 years helping families, and one thing I know for sure is this:
kids who can think flexibly do better—in school, with friends, and at home.

That’s why I wrote Raising Flexible Kids.

This book is about teaching children how to:
• pause before reacting
• problem-solve when things don’t go their way
• handle frustration without melting down
• practice flexible thinking during games, schoolwork, and family life

Instead of getting stuck in “this isn’t fair” or “I can’t do this,” kids can learn to say things like
👉 “It’s no big deal.”
👉 “I can do it later.”
👉 “This won’t take that long.”

📘 Raising Flexible Kids will be available soon on Amazon and Kindle.
I can’t wait to share it with you!!
Stay tuned!!! 📕
