Soul Liberation Wellness is a Yoga education provider serving socially conscious businesses and organizations that center the needs of Black, POC, and queer/trans communities. Unlike most mainstream yoga practices that concentrate on only body poses as a basic exercise, Soul Liberation Wellness focuses on complete Self transformation and empowerment by exploring conscious union with all dimensions of our divine being: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.

In each class we expand our soulful connection to Self and others through breath meditation, free flow movement, and reflection sharing. This is a gentle class for all experience and accessibility levels, and students are encouraged to bring a notebook for journaling.

Kamili Yoga® is a modern Afrocentric system for Black holistic wellness. From the African Swahili word for “complete” and the Indian Sanskrit word for “union,” Kamili Yoga is born of the need for a system of Yoga that centers Black identity and celebrates the cultures of the African continent and diaspora.✊🏾

Join Eternity (that's me!) and fellow BIPOC yogis on the journey to practice Kamili Yoga, starting with a 2-hour workshop on Tuesday January 17. Then come to the weekly classes to learn the principles and practice the yogic ritual of Kamili Yoga in community. 🧘🏾‍♂️🧘🏾‍♀️🧘🏾

😊 We had a WONDERFUL first class of Q***r Yoga tonight! We began with inner intention setting through breath work, then expanded into free-flow, mind-body movement. We closed with sharing our experiences with the practice, what we gained, and what we released.

It's the ending of a short but significant era.

Earlier this month tenants were notified that we must vacate the building. It has been bought and the new owner wants it vacant, likely because it will be torn down. This is the second time I've been uprooted from a space I've created and curated for my wellness offerings.

And that is okay.

I appreciate the three years I've spent here. A lot of heart and soul went into developing my studio. But even more went into developing me. So much work and imagination and creativity has been birthed from me in this space, and I am grateful.

And yet, from the very first day I opened the door, I knew the time would come when I would have to close it for good.

But I am ready.

I don't know what will come along in the future. Maybe I'll end up in an even better space. Maybe I'll never have a studio again. Whatever happens, I trust it is for the good of my growth and my future.

The studio is closed, but Soul Liberation Wellness isn't going anywhere. Because I still have work to do.
