At Advocations, we work different. We want you to walk into that room knowing you are valuable talent. Our latest blog post, "Flip the Script," shows you how to take the lead.

Ready for a career pivot? Let’s make it happen.

The job landscape is shifting. More people are looking for roles that offer growth, respect, and a place where they can truly belong. If you’ve been feeling the itch to move on, you aren't alone—and employers are finally waking up to the power of untapped talent.

But let’s be real: change is scary. Whether you are navigating the complexities of returning to work while on SSI/SSDI or just ready for something new, the unknown can feel overwhelming.

Don’t panic. We’ve got you.

Here is how to take control of your career pivot, the A-Team way:

Introspection is your secret weapon. Are you running toward a new passion? Does this new path align with your health needs and life goals? Don't just jump; find a fit that respects who you are.

You have more skills than you think. Resilience, adaptability, and problem-solving are high-value currency. You aren't "starting over"—you are reskilling like a boss.

Remix your resume. Focus on what you can do rather than just where you’ve been. Frame your experience as an asset. Navigating unique challenges has made you a stronger candidate.

Own the interview. Be genuine and offer solutions. Show them you aren't just looking to escape a job, but that you are ready to drive their business forward.

Let’s navigate this together.

If you are a job seeker with a disability, the "oh-nos" of paperwork and benefits shouldn't stop you from reaching your goals. Our Career Coaches are here to handle the scary legal and medical complexities of programs like Ticket to Work so you can focus on your future.

Ready to stop dreaming and start doing? The A-Team is in your corner.

Ready for a career pivot? Advocations guides disabled job seekers to fulfilling roles, making inclusivity your superpower.

Worried about the 2026 benefits rules? You aren’t alone.

We hear it all the time: "If I start working, will I lose my healthcare?" or "What happens to my check if I earn too much?"

The system can feel like a maze, especially with the new 2026 SGA (Substantial Gainful Activity) limits. But here’s the truth: You don’t have to figure it out by yourself. The A-Team is in your corner.

We’ve broken down the scary acronyms into plain English so you can focus on your goals, not the paperwork.

The "Fear-Buster" 2026 Numbers: Monthly earning limits used to measure SGA:
Non-Blind: $1,690 per month
Statutorily Blind: $2,830 per month

Why this matters: Whether you're on SSDI or SSI, these numbers are the "yardstick" the government uses. Understanding them is the first step toward working with confidence.

Don't panic. We’ve got this. Our Career Coaches are experts at helping you navigate the "what-ifs" and protecting your safety net while you find the right job.

Does the idea of an employer Googling you make you want to delete the internet?

We get it. It’s scary thinking about strangers looking up your history. But don't panic—we’ve got this.

Your online presence isn't just something to worry about; it's actually your best tool to show the world you are ready to work.

As your Career Coaches, The A-Team wants to help you turn that digital anxiety into a competitive advantage.

In our latest post, "Own Your Digital Story," we share practical tips on how to:

- Take the "Google Yourself" Challenge: See what they see before they do.

- Scrub Your Socials: Keep the "weekend you" separate from the "work you."

- Master LinkedIn: Use the right keywords so recruiters find you.

- Select the Perfect Pic: Why a simple smile builds trust.

Stop letting the unknowns hold you back. Let's polish that presence so you can walk into your next interview (or Zoom call) with total confidence.

Working from home isn’t just a perk. For many people with disabilities, it is the difference between staying on the sidelines and building a career.

But if you have been searching online, you know the struggle: Typing "work from home jobs" into a search engine often feels like walking into a minefield of scams and dead ends.

It is time to stop guessing and start building a strategy that works.

We help SSI and SSDI beneficiaries find real remote jobs, keep the job, and navigate the “what happens to my benefits?” panic.

You do not have to do this alone.

Read our latest guide on how to spot the scams, change your search terms, and find an employer who views your perspective as an asset, not a liability.

Let’s be honest: The idea of returning to work while on SSI or SSDI can be terrifying.

It’s 2026, and while you want to be part of the workforce, the "what-ifs" keep you up at night.

"Will I lose my medical coverage?"

"What happens if my disability changes?"

"What about all the paperwork?"

Take a deep breath. At Advocations, we know that for people with disabilities, the barrier isn't usually the work itself—it's the maze of rules surrounding it.

The Ticket to Work program is your safety net. It is voluntary, free, and designed to let you test the waters without losing your benefits immediately.

But you don't have to navigate it alone. We aren't just "Case Managers"—we are Career Coaches. We act as your bridge between fear and opportunity.

Let’s turn your anxiety into action. You handle the work; let us handle the rules.

Does hitting "Submit" on a job application feel a little too much like shouting into the void?

We know the feeling. You send resume after resume, stressing about the gaps in your history or worrying about how to disclose your disability... only to hear silence.

It’s exhausting. But here is the truth: You are not a statistic. You are untapped talent.

If you are tired of being ignored, it’s time to stop spamming the "Apply" button and start applying smarter. Here are 3 quick tips from the A-Team playbook to help you get noticed:

Do Your Detective Work: Don't send generic cover letters. Find a unique fact about the company that proves you’ve done your homework.

Speak Their Language: If they say "clients," don't say "customers." Use their words to show you’re already part of the team.

Connect the Dots: Don't make them guess. Explicitly explain how your unique background (and resilience!) solves their specific problems.

You have the skills—now let’s make sure they see them.

Escape the "Resume Black Hole" – Take Control of Your Search

Does hitting "Submit" on a job application feel like shouting into the void?

You click the button, and then... silence.

For people with disabilities, that silence can trigger a spiral of anxiety. Did they see my skills? Did the automated system kick me out?

Here is the truth: Automated filters are tough hurdles. But you don't have to sit back and wait for a computer to decide your future.

It’s time to take control.

At Advocations, we know the best way to get an interview isn't waiting in line—it's introducing yourself directly to the human with the power to say "Yes."

Here is how to bypass the gatekeepers:

1️⃣ FIND THE DECISION-MAKER - HR manages the process, but Hiring Managers make the decisions. Check the "About" page or search LinkedIn for titles like "Marketing Manager" rather than just job postings.

2️⃣ CRACK THE EMAIL CODE - Most companies follow a pattern (like firstname.lastname@company.com). Google is your detective partner here.

3️⃣ VERIFY BEFORE YOU SEND - Try the "Clueless Call." Call the main line and ask, "I'm trying to send a document to Jane Doe, could you verify if her email is jane.doe@...?" It’s low-risk and effective.

4️⃣ SEND YOUR MESSAGE - Keep it short and confident. You have untapped talent to offer. "I applied online but wanted to introduce myself personally because my skills in [Skill X] are a perfect match for your team."

WE’RE IN YOUR CORNER

Advocating for yourself takes courage. The fear of rejection is real, especially when navigating the complexities of returning to work. But remember: You are offering a solution to their problem.

Don't panic. If you get stuck or need help crafting that introductory email, reach out to an Advocations Career Coach. We've got this.

Stop throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks.

Does the job hunt feel overwhelming? Staring at endless listings, wondering if you’re qualified, or panicking about how a paycheck might affect your benefits—it’s enough to make anyone freeze up.

But here is the truth: You don't need to apply for everything.

At Advocations, we work different. We believe the secret to success isn't luck; it's alignment. It’s about finding a role that fits you and your unique strengths, not twisting yourself into knots to fit a job description.

In our latest article, we break down the blueprint to move you from anxiety to action:

Define Your "Top Trio": Stop being a jack-of-all-trades. Focus on the three functions where you truly shine.

The Salary Sense-Check: We help you do the math so you know exactly how a new income works with your benefits. No surprises.

Audit Your Arsenal: Learn how to align your education and skills to make yourself the obvious choice.

We know the system is scary, but you don’t have to navigate the "oh-nos" alone.
